Silverado St. Charles Memory Care Community was all about memory care and they seemed very experienced with dementia and Alzheimer's patients. We didn't choose them because the rooms were pretty small and, I'm not sure all of them, but they didn't have a bathroom in the room. The staff was very helpful and informative. They had a lot of different activity rooms and a hair salon. It was very clean, well-kept, and very neat. There are quite a few restaurants pretty close. The facade was nice.

I toured Silverado St. Charles Memory Care Community. I thought it was excellent. The remedial care for some of the early stages of dementia was just outstanding. Unfortunately, that's not the case for later stages, and I was discouraged by the high price. The facility is fine. They did not stand out, but they were acceptable. They kept the residents extremely engaged, that was what impressed me. They were engaged from morning and all afternoon; what stood out is how much they engaged the residents. I did not see the menu, I just saw the dining space. I think there were a number of dining rooms, and they all looked very pleasant. We eliminated it because it was too expensive. I rate it a three because it's too expensive for what you get. The lady who is responsible for activities at the earliest stages was just an outstanding person. I was very impressed by her. She ran the program. She was energetic and devoted, just a great person.

My wife has been in Silverado St. Charles Memory Care Community for a month now. They care a great deal for her. I chose them basically for pricing, but mainly it's the care. The people that work there all care. The other day I was in there, they let me join her in playing bingo. She's involved in activities when they're playing games. They do the best that they can. They don't have a gym or a salon, but they have activities for what they can do. They have these sports rooms where they watch baseball in one room, and in the other room, they have movies for the women. There are two TVs going on all time, one for the guys and one for the gals. There's a garden for those ladies that love to do that work. Upkeep is fine. In terms of location, it's only six miles away from me, so it's close and that's the best part of it. If she'll let me, I can go see her every day.

I toured Silverado St. Charles Memory Care Community and I thought the staff had said they had a waiting list. It was also quite a bit more expensive. It was very nice and newer also. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They have a lovely outside area, all enclosed and they have patio areas.

I visited 11 places and Silverado Memory Care is a perfect fit. Dad acclimated well due to the purposefulness of the environment, predictable schedule, and comfortable surroundings. All staff, from the nurses and caregivers to maintenance and dining, have 40 hours of dementia education. I haven't heard a raised voice since we came here two weeks ago. There are many enriching activities, a bistro with fresh cookies mid-afternoon, and the fellowship of other residents, family members, and staff.
