As soon as we walked in, there were a whole bunch of people. I realized it was during their exercise time, but you couldn't even walk through the door without bumping into people. Everyone was very nice. We just didn't like the setup. It was too cramped. I don't want my mom to feel like she is being hidden away. However, the staff who gave the tour was very nice, and the facility was very clean."

"We place my loved one at Sunrise Senior Care Memory Center (Sunrise of Gurnee). Everything is beautiful. The people are extremely caring, patient and very professional. We do not worry about her care at all because we know she is having the very best. The facility itself is absolutely gorgeous. It looks like a luxury hotel. There are tons of stuff for her to be involved in like games, activities and visits out somewhere. It is really top drawer. We cannot ask for anything better, and it is so close. It is 20 minutes from our house so we see her 2 to 3 times a week. I myself will go there when the time comes. We are just so impressed by their excellent facility and care. It is expensive, but it is worth every penny. "

"There are three different types and they are all very spacious choices. They provide three meals per day, and the males are all made on the premises by an experienced chef. They have many different activities for residence and to keep their mind active and their hands busy Staff is very friendly and loving and caring about each and every resident. I really enjoyed my visit! It will be my first choice for when my mom is ready."

"My mom is a resident of Grand Victorian of Crystal Lake. They take care of everyone there. They want to do as much as they can to help people. They're on top of what people are doing if they're not feeling well, not participating, or don't want to. They keep me aware if my mom isn't going down for dinner, not eating, or feeling well, which is helpful. She's independent still, but they have in-home, which is a la carte. They go in and give her pills and do some of the things that she's not able to do on her own. The staff, they're fairly new, and they're trying to get their arms around everything. They seem very qualified and caring. It's all meals. They even do room service if you don't like going to the dining room. It is all included, so it is a menu, and they also have a buffet. If you don't want to see what's on the buffet, you can select from the menu. I've eaten there, and the food is very good. They just updated all the carpeting and painted, but even when it was outdated, they kept it clean. I think that they're on top of that. They have activities constantly. They also send out a newsletter. They have people come in, or they have activities. They're doing something all the time."
