I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Mom lives in Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living. Everybody was super friendly. Everybody that we were able to talk to, like the residents, all said that they liked it there. That was a huge determining factor and I like that if Mom suddenly needs help with something else, it's not going to cost her $500 a month more. It was one price regardless of the level of care. It was a little bumpy in the beginning because it was a Friday when we went there, so I knew that there wouldn't be as many people. They missed her for dinner her first night, so she freaked out there and she didn't have a medical alert until Monday, so it was a little rough start, and I could only go on the weekend because she's over an hour away, but my son had gone yesterday and I was able to get them to plug her cell phone in and talk to her. So, things have been smooth. I knew there would be a transition period and so far, so good. She's transitioning well. She's talking with residents. Hopefully it'll continue that way. The dining area is really nice. It was like fine dining and they had assigned seats, which I actually think is fantastic because she knew exactly where to go each time and she got to meet the same people, so I like the assigned seats. Some people don't, but I think it keeps them from isolating themselves. She really liked the meals she had. She missed a couple, but when we went there, we were totally like an hour after everything was already done and yet they pulled out fish for us and it tasted like it had just been made.

I was very impressed with Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living. It really kind of checked off all the boxes that we were looking for. I really don't have anything negative to say about it. What I really liked was their apartments were more spacious than some of the others that I had visited. Also, it was within my mom's price range. Their dining area was lovely. The apartments were lovely. The facility looked very clean and very well run. I just got a really good vibe when I walked in. I really liked it there.

We loved Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living. It was clean and beautiful. It was exactly what my brother-in-law was looking for. They got a garden patio, a beauty salon, an activities room, a physical therapy room, a library, and dining a room. It was just perfect. The lady was just very thorough and paid a lot of attention to my brother-in-law, which he needed, and she's very good at what she did.

I toured Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living. I like that place, but my brother could not go there. I like the size of the rooms. There was a lot of space there. However, I didn't see a lot of staff around while I was there. But everybody looked well taken care of. They had strolling walkways and they had gardening. There were plenty of activities and a large assortment of activities. They had a courtyard. It's very, very close to my home.

Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living was very nice. I liked the way the rooms looked and everything. Compared to the other place, this was smaller. The room space (square foot-wise) was smaller. The staff that gave the tour were very nice and very patient, so it was nice. The dining area was good. There was nothing at all wrong with it, it's just my feeling. They have crafts, bingo, and the usual stuff. The community was very nice. The person that gave me the tour was very nice. Even though I picked the other place, it doesn't mean this one was bad because it was good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Magnolia Gardens is quite an established assisted living. My mother has a very large private room with a shower and bath. They have three meals a day and snacks. It has a small garden. It has nurses' stations on each section of the ward, which is very inclusive with their interaction. They have pill distributions at the nurses' station. During Covid, they went room to room to administer the medications. Medications are already bought by a drug service, so they're packaged and labeled and everything, so there's no mix-up of medications distributed. They have active interactions with all the doctors that assist the residents there. The food is quite good. I've eaten there several times. They know each resident by name. They know the guests that come in regularly like me. They're very friendly. During the Covid, they were very strict and during the outbreak, they only had two Covid positives, and they were the staff. None of the residents got Covid. They were very strict, even though sometimes it's hard for us to go and see them, but we understood. Once it was open, they still take precautions until this day. If you come in, you have to get your temperature taken, sign the papers that you haven't been around Covid, and wear a mask. When the residents come back in, like I would take my mother out to lunch, there is a temperature check. Residents are signed in and signed out, so they keep track of who comes and goes. She's been in there for three-and-a-half years now, and I've never had a problem. They also have transports to certain doctors that are provided by the facility, which is included in her rental. I'm quite happy. For what she has with a private room and the square footage, there was nothing comparable for the price range that she pays now. In the area where I live, which is very senior elder care saturated, I could not find something that I thought was conducive to where she was at and that could give her better care or her surroundings. I could find shared rooms for the price, but my mother did not want to share a room. I could find a private room, however, that would tack on about $1500 more. Her budget would not afford that. I know all the doctors she goes to and the doctors also facilitate other residents there. So that's kind of a good sign that she's under good care. I don't mind driving the two hours there to get to her because I know she is safe. Technology with the cell phone kind of aged her out, so I was able to get a landline installed in her private room with no hassles. Now my mom has a landline, so she still has contact with the outside world. They were very accommodating and gave me information and so forth to help me to get that situation remedied for my mom. She's been able to make friends. When I go in there, I'm introduced, and so she talks about us kids. They're all happy to meet us. When we see her interacting with the other residents, it's more comfortable for us. I like that at Magnolia, the medicine gets to the facility and it's distributed internally by the staff, not someone coming in and out. They don't have a lot of roving physicians or nurses or anything like that. They come in on an as-needed basis. If you have a situation, they make sure that you get to your doctor's. It's nice to know that she's in a facility that she feels comfortable with and safe. During Covid, even though she was on lockdown, in a sense, she was taken care of. She had interactions with people delivering the food to her and making sure that she was OK and then making sure that she has a way of reaching out to us outside via phone. It's a blessing because they are very interactive. They welcome your suggestions and your concerns. I give them a thumbs up. The facility is immaculate. The grounds are very well taken care of. They got a great gardener because the flowers bloom when they're supposed to bloom and there are no weeds.

The staff who assisted me at Magnolia Gardens was nice. The place had a circular hallway. Their courtyard was in the center. They had a library toward the front, and a massage room. It looked like the dining area was combined with the great room. During the daytime, a lot of the people sit and watch TV in the same area where they eat. Unfortunately, Magnolia Gardens still had a lot of tree damage from the hurricane back in September. The room wasn't quite as good as the ones in the other community. It was also a little bit smaller.

I am going to go to Magnolia Gardens. The people and the building are nice. If you have additional needs, it will not cost additional prices. They do not have an entrance fee. We have been there to visit several times, and the staff has been very nice. It is also very close to where I live. I am on a waiting list for a studio apartment. I've see several rooms that are very nice. It has big windows, a bathroom, and nice closets. You bring your own furniture. They offer three meals and two snacks and have a menu with three different entrees for each meal. They have continental breakfast if you do not make breakfast in the morning. I will recommend it to others.

Magnolia Gardens have very nice and very expensive rooms. They had crafts, a beautiful dining area, a TV area, and a lot of socials going on. The staff was very nice. We even talked to a few clients there; they were very nice and seemed to be very happy.

Magnolia Gardens was very good. We chose it because it's a one-story building, so we need not worry about my dad going into elevators and stairs. It is a wonderful place, they're good, and we seem to like it a lot. The room was very nice, very big, and very open. They have basically everything dad needs. The food is real good, very diverse, and had lots of choices on the meals, and he enjoys it.

Magnolia Gardens was a really pleasant surprise, especially given the Medicaid thing. They were really wonderful. That was one that we had considered, but they didn't offer the level of medical supervision that we were looking for, and some of the amenities, but they were very good. The rooms were very nice. It was a very pleasant environment, very clean, spacious. It was a really good value for the money.

Magnolia Gardens is probably the newest of the facilities. It's been about 10 years since they opened up. It's conveniently located. It's only a 1-story, like a ranch house, but spread out beautifully. The facilities are all new but they work on a simply different program. I've been there several times to visit. It's pretty hard to compare a very small unit with maybe 70 or 80 beds to a giant facility which has 400 people. The staff is very friendly up in the front office. It doesn’t have a large office area, so you're treated in a different way like in a little sitting room or a meeting room. You can chat with the person before they take you out on a tour. I appreciate their environment because it's smaller and it doesn't have all the fancies around.

My parents had just signed a lease with a wonderful place called Magnolia Gardens. They had different sizes of rooms and they were very attractive. They were very clean, neat, well painted and well kept. They were nothing like the nursing homes that we had been to. They offered every type of assistances needed up to a certain point and they worked with us for financing as well. It's seven minutes from my home and it's important to us to have her close by. They seemed to be very pleasant and the people seemed happy and well taken care of.

I really liked Magnolia Gardens. The price was right and everything was inclusive and they do things a la carte. I liked the arrangement. I liked the rooms although it was small, it was very clean. I talked to a few residents there and they were very happy with it. There were a lot of things that I was a little apprehensive about like my mother needed to be wheeled and there was not much wheelchair access. I didin't like the that they had a waiting list but I would recommend it to others.

I always wondered what Magnolia Gardens was like since I drive by often. It always looked clean & well cared for from outside. When my Mom needed more help than I was able to provide I started looking for an ALF. Visiting many in this area made it very clear to me that Magnolia Gardens was the place for Mom to be. The staff is always friendly & helpful to everyone. The residents seem happy and the resounding answer when I asked if they liked living there was "Yes". Mom's room is spacious with a beautiful view of the grounds and large oak trees. Bringing all her own furniture etc made the transition from her house so much easier. The staff helped me navigate the way to transition Mom from home to an ALF even before I commited to putting her there! The lobby is comfortable & clean with smiling staff always at the desk to greet visitors & watch for wayward residents. The health care staff check on patients often & really check to make sure they are alright - even at night. Mom's apartment is always kept clean by the very efficient housekeeping staff - the common areas are always beautiful & clean. Activities are frequent and well run by the activities director who makes every day fun for the residents. The dining room is very spacious and my Mom loves the food - she has gained a little weight since moving in. Overall our experience has been fantastic - Mom is well cared for and safe!

The facility is very nice and the apartments are set up well for people who have to use a wheelchair or walker. It is very clean and most of the staff are nice. No nursing staff only Med Techs. Food is absolutely rotten. The administrator is totally ineffective and will not deal with any resident issues like noise problems or other issues.

Magnolia Gardens is beautiful and pretty inexpensive compared to other places in the area. They also take Medicaid and you don't have to share a room. I would recommend them to anyone.
