I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad moved to Solaris HealthCare Pensacola. I like that they're friendly. Right now, they seem to be very informative of what's going on with the person that's residing there with the family. And the care is good as well. They have outdoor spaces and they have exercise rooms for the residents. They do have activities. I liked the staff. I liked that they had plenty of staff there. The menu looked good and the place smelled good. When you walked in it had a good smell to it. The food can be improved, and it takes time to answer, like I bought him a television and it's taking the maintenance like two weeks to get it all set up.

My mom has been a resident at Solaris for 2 years now and she has received excellent care! All of the staff and Administrators have been great and we especially love Pam, mom’s normal CNA, who takes such loving care of her. The entire Solaris Team have been friendly and focused on providing high quality health care! Norveen, The Activities Director, does an amazing job offering a variety of fun opportunities for the residents. Bingo, Horse Racing, arts and crafts, holiday parties and socials are a few favorites. I highly recommend Solaris for rehabilitation or long term health care needs!

My grandmother was in the facility 3 times for rehab. We received great communication involving her care. The care plan team was also great with the help and recommendations while planning for my grandmother to return home. I would recommend Solaris to any of my family and friends needing short term rehab or LTC.

My mother is a current patient receiving rehabilitation after a brief hospital stay and lengthy illness. The staff have been so friendly, helpful and respectful throughout our entire journey! The facility is clean, smells fresh, room are neat and well kept. We will always recommend Solaris to our friends and family!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My disabled aunt was a resident at Solaris for a decade. In November 2018 an employee decided to move her from her chair to the bed via a hoist and broke protocol by doing it unassisted. This resulted in my aunt being dropped cracking her skull and breaking both of her legs.Prior to her death, the bigwigs from Solaris went to visit her in the hospital trying to appear concerned while they were threatening to take away her room from her a place she has spent many years. She stated she was scared to return to Solaris but scared not to because that is all she knew. She died a few days later and never had the chance to return. Unfortunately, in the state of Florida the value of someone’s life determines which attorneys will take the case. Since her life to others was not valuable, finding an attorney to help became too much for my family to bear. I just got the news that another love one is now injured under their care and I am pissed. Please do not trust them with your loved ones. I wish we had not.

Do not send a loved one to this facility! My mother was there for rehab after an extended hospital stay left her too weak to go straight home. She spent over a week at Solaris and described it as pure torture. Help rarely came when called. Her roommate was unable to get up to use the bathroom and would often spend hours lying in her own feces waiting for help to arrive. Food was served cold. Phones almost never worked. Vital information was not relayed to her. We finally decided we had to take her out of the facility but were unable to because there wasn't a doctor or nurse at the facility qualified to discharge her. My mom asked one of her nurses to call me and asked if he had my phone number. He said to her, "Yes, I have his number. I've talked to him several times today." I never received a call from anyone ever, let alone "several times" in one day. When she was finally discharged (after waiting 5 hours for a doctor to be called in to approve her release), that same nurse told her that he had called me and I was on my way. Again, no call was made. I was not on my way. They wheeled her out the front door to wait for me to drive up. Luckily, I called to see what was taking so long with her discharge and they told me she was waiting outside for me. I guess I should be happy they didn't roll her out into traffic.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I spent a week at Solaris HealthCare Pensacola. The people were caring. It was very clean and comfortable with the exception of one of the patients who stole my ring and I'm upset about that, but I can't do anything about it. The food was delicious. I went to physical therapy. I improved and I can walk now, and I would rate the therapists a 5/5. You could eat in your room or you could go to the dining room.

My mother was in Solaris HealthCare Pensacola. She fell and broke her hip. The staff was fine most of the time, they were helpful, and accommodating. Her room was fine, it was clean, but she was in a shared room with another lady. Just about everybody in her section was practically a vegetable, they all sat in their wheelchairs, or fell out of their wheelchairs. The dining area was fine, but she didn't eat there, she ate in her room alone instead. They offer food, gave her medications, and bathe her once a week. They had too many residents for the staff to handle, and most of them were untrained.

A friend of mine was in there for Rehab that was not able to walk or stand on her own and they left her in the bathroom alone for a long length of time so she tried to stand up by herself and fell and broke her foot and then had to have surgery. They make her wait prolong length of time to get dressed because they have too many other people to take care of. On the weekends they are always short-staffed. She was in there to get better and now she's worse off than she was. Her rehab days are almost up so she will end up in skilled nursing where she should have never been in the first place. The theft around there is unbelievable. We found bags of items in her closet that someone had planned on taking home that belong to other patients. They break items that belong to the patients and have no consideration for their belongings. Do not put your loved ones there unless you just don't care about them or their well-being.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My physical therapist was the best one I ever had . The brochure implied the rehab wing had private rooms but they put me in a semi private room with elderly patients with severe dementia who kept me up all night with their rantings . I was recovering from major surgery and needed my rest which I did not get . I was in the facility for two and a half weeks and my nerves were frazzled . The staff did their best to keep my roommates quiet at night . The food was good and the nurses and helpers gave excellent care . I think the administration could do a lot better job by putting patients with the same problems together and put rehab patient with other rehab patients .

The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Nurses were always available and went above and beyond to help. The nurses aides smiled and were always helpful. PT and rehab staff were excellent! The food was good and dietician checked on us frequently. Management solved problems quickly and helped us with discharge needs. Highly recommended.

I would not recommend putting a loved one in this facility. Especially the rehab section. Weekend and night staff lazy. I've watched and observed this facility. A nurse will have her back to you when a patient is in a wheelchair saying they have to use the bathroom. I've watched staff taking food off the food trays being delivered, food comes to your loved one cold. Shame on you for treating our loved ones badly. And shame on me for trusting that you cared. Bring your loved ones home if you can and bring in help. Help is out there, all you have to do is ask. Family, friends lets help our loved ones get the care they deserve. To the staff at Health Center of Pensacola, what goes around, comes around. One day you'll need help!

The Health Center was the only available one that we could get into. It was clean, they’re responsive to our needs, and when there are issues, they’re right on it. We have had no major problems; they’re very efficient, and they’re friendly. My dad was in the rehab and moved to long term care. He shared a room.

We had to put my husband at The Health Center of Pensacola. His room was okay. They just need to get to the patient in a shorter time. I felt like they were taking too long to get to the patient themselves. If the patient is in there, they should be really treated with care and dignity even though they are old. They should get fast response to be kept dry and clean, but the facility itself is good. It’s a good place to be.
