Sun Bay Manor I was OK. My mom was just not convinced. I'm not so sure about the food choices/if it's for her because she's kind of like a picky eater. The staff members were very nice. We saw two rooms and they seemed OK. They seemed like an everyday room, nothing fancy. The dining area seemed OK and clean. They need to improve on more food choices.

While in the area, we made a stop at the Sun Bay Manor. Even though we didn't have an appointment, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The main grounds had nice seating areas to relax by. We liked the way the foyer area was decorated with fresh flowers. The staff pointed out that residents are regularly invited to participate in everything there is to offer - from outings to indoor games, films and reading groups. Staff was willing to accommodate any resident need. The fully-equipped exercise room offered a variety of fitness choices, from classes to equipment. The well-stocked library had a nice book selection. The diverse residents included people at various levels of care. The staff easily attended to those who needed it more. The nicely appointed private rooms were all fresh and seemed newly decorated. Other indoor areas were all homey, but well designed and easy access. There was a variety of types of food available - for example, meal choices ranged from a complete meal to snacks or lighter fare, for those who wanted it. Every dietary concern seemed to be well addressed. Snacks all seemed very good, as well, from fresh vegetables and fruit to hard boiled eggs. Every effort is made to ensure that all residents are taken care of nutritionally. The facility encourages family members to visit regularly and participate in many of the hosted events and celebrations. It was clear that the care at this facility provides understanding and caring staff for the best care and contentment of its residents.
