"Bay Oaks was only the second assisted living facility that we had checked out. It is located in Miami, which is only 20 minutes away from where I live. However, we were so impressed with it that we abandoned all our plans to visit other similar facilities. The place is really pleasant and it doesn't look or feel like an assisted living facility at all. During his stay there my uncle had access to cable TV and a phone, just like he did at home. The staff at Bay Oaks was very friendly and they even laughed at my uncles jokes. He always hated the idea of living in one of these facilities but he said to me, 'I've stayed in hotels that weren't as fancy as this place.' That pretty much sums it up. The only possible negative aspect of Bay Oaks is that the facility is relatively expensive. We ended up paying much more than we had anticipated but it was still within our general 'Uncle Dennis Budget' My uncle had been good to me my whole life, so I was not going to short-change him now. All things considered, my entire family and I are extremely pleased with our choice because we felt like we got what we paid for. "

"My mom moved here. It was amazing. The office is very helpful throughout the process. My mom has only been there for a month. So far, so good. The room is great. The meals are included. They get to have birthday celebrations. They have bingo. They go to the supermarket and take the residents to the doctor."

"Miami Gardens Manor was very nice. Right now, it's a top consideration. It's very clean and very nice. It's a more intimate home feeling because it is like a home that's converted. I was told that the food (although I didn't taste it) was all prepared fresh. Nothing is canned or anything like that, so it's fresh food; that is very nice. The food prep area was very clean. The rooms were clean and neat. Everything was fine there. They have a large room in the front and another room. They were redoing the outside area at the time. The staff was very friendly. Other than the TV, I didn't see the activities. They didn't discuss any."

"I am searching a facility for my aunt. I really liked The Peninsula, but the only issue that I had with it was that it is too far for me. I wanted something closer to where her sister and other parts of the family can visit. It is nice though, and I liked it. I would have wanted her to see it. I like the fact that they have a cafeteria, where she can pick out her meal through the menu up on the board and a movie room. I also like that the people were out and about and were not confined to a room. They could come and go freely and were treated like any regular people to me, and I liked that. The ones I saw seemed to be happy. They were laughing, socializing, and playing cards. They were doing everything. It has pretty much everything she will need. But we are concerned with the location because we don't want her to be somewhere people cannot go and see her. I'll recommend this to my aunt. "

"The Plaza at Parksquare was very good. If we were gonna move mom into anywhere, I think that would have been the place. The rooms were very nice, and the facility was very accommodating. The staff was very nice, very personable, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. The dining area had tablecloths, and it looked very comfortable. They were dealing with the Covid issues, but they had menus that could be tailored as needed. I thought the dining area was more than accommodating. There's a lot of functions and a lot of painting that I saw. There also was a movie theater. They had movie nights, cards, and stuff like that."

"I toured Providence Living at Pembroke Pines. It was very welcoming. The grass is well maintained. It's a homey-type layout. You feel like you're coming home. The staff was very, very helpful. She put you at ease and answered all the questions. They're trying to finish doing whatever to make it more homey. The dining area was set up like a family setting, and they had provisions for people in wheelchairs."

"My sister has been in an assisted living facility at Whispering Pines Home Care for five months already. It's very well kept and always sparkly clean. They're very nice ladies and always caring and concerned. They seem to enjoy the food. It's a lot of rice which my sister isn't that crazy about, but we've gone in there and they've been eating and everybody seems to be eating it happily, so I don't think it's bad in any way. When I would go in, it's just before or just after lunch, and then she likes to take a nap, so we sit with her and talk until she's ready to take a nap. It's a lovely home and they have a nice patio area and a nice living room/TV room that they can sit in and watch TV if they want. Value for money is very good. Every place else wanted over almost $3000 and she didn't have that money. We were able to use her Social Security check and some of her money and then they're applying for Medicaid for her. I'm very happy I found them."

"My parents has moved into East Ridge at Cutler Bay. They are fabulous. They've gone in as independent living, but it's a step-up and if they have to go to full assisted living, they can do that. The staff is very caring, very nice, and take good care of them. The personnel are very friendly and very caring. The little villa that they're in is adorable, and it's something that they're enjoying."

"I toured Alfonso's ALF. They showed me the house. It was nice and clean. The people were polite and nice. They were very nice to me. However, it is not a place for my mom. They weren't totally bad, but they weren't the best. My mom is still active, and residents were just sitting around."

"The facility featured many amenities for residents to entertain themselves. The rooms were nice and had a decent amount of space to boot. They had many social areas on the ground floor. They also had good security to make sure other people don't go in there, it helps to make the guests feel secure while keeping their privacy. The common areas (dining room, hallways and entertainment rooms etc) are also clean and there is usually staff available 24 hours who check the common areas and resident rooms regularly. On the whole residents seem more independent than at most other assisted living facilities, although there is also an excellent memory care unit. The staff is friendly, but because it's a large place, there can be a bit of a businesslike feel about the place. The care seems good and the memory care is outstanding because of the people who are hired to be the eyes and ears there. Food is of a good quality and most of the residents were happy about it. The facility is a nice place for old people to live peacefully. I would recommend it for all. "

"Caring for You II is a six-bed facility, and it is only for women. I went to visit with my mother, she really liked the atmosphere and the people working there, and everything is super neat and spotlessly clean. She hasn't moved in yet, but from the impression we got and everything, I would probably give it a four. They have a nurse coming in every day, and they take care of their medications. "

"St Anne's Nursing Center was a very clean place. They spoke a lot of Spanish there which I had a problem with because I don't speak Spanish. It was very organized and very clinical. The staff was very nice, especially the receptionist. I kept getting lost there because it was so big, and there wasn't anybody to help me. I'd turn the wrong way, I couldn't understand where I was going, and it wasn't easy access around for me."

"So far, the people at ACC Sunshine Assisted Living Facility are very nice. They let us know how my mother-in-law is doing and they send us pictures. It's a very clean place. The other people that are there look very clean and the house looks very clean. We have no complaints so far."
