My mother was in Shoal Creek around October. She stayed there about a week or two. I just had issues with the staff as far as the way they treated her and the care she received. That is why I requested her to be moved out of there. None of them are homey; they all feel institutional. The communication between the staff could be improved, and they need to hire people who want to work with the elderly with issues. If you are just looking for a job, that is not a job for you. Those patients can be a handful, and if you are just looking for a paycheck, that is not the job for you.

Very nice, friendly, caring staff. I was a skeptical when Mom went there, but after a few weeks, I was sold. Now I'm waiting for an opening for Mom to be admitted for long-term care, but, unfortunately, they rarely have beds open. Shoal Creek Rocks
