I lived in American House Senior Living Bluewater Bay. I really liked living there, and I liked the staff. When they changed hands, it changed a bit, but it was really a great place to be, and it's brand-new. Their amenities include a pool and a hot tub, they havw parking and buses to take you shopping or to the doctor. You don't have to have a car there. They also have movie theaters, happy hour, live music on Fridays, and dancing. It was very nice.

I toured American House Bluewater Bay. I like it very much, but the only thing I have against them is it's so tiny. The one-bedrooms are so tiny that I'd probably need two bedrooms just to get my computer in and things like that. The rooms were small. The staff looked like they were very helpful to the residents there. I would recommend it if they didn't mind the space. They have a pool, movies, and a lot of activities going on. The rooms are beautiful and nice, but they're very small. The staff who gave me the tour was very helpful and very knowledgeable.

I went to look at American House Bluewater Bay. The facility is more modern, and that was good. The least about it is that I don't believe there was any progressive care as you get older and get worse physically. It was just strictly independent living. The staff was very nice. Everybody smiles. They had a larger game area, a heated pool, and everything that you probably wanted. I was surprised at how small the movie theater was. Overall, it's a very nice place. We didn't see anything that was unkempt. It is not near any major hospital, but it is near about seven or eight decent restaurants.

We did a tour of American House Bluewater Bay. I was with Donna, and we had a very thorough tour. She showed me all the places where they were having events at the same time, happy hour, and whatnot. So, I got to see everything, but I also got to see the residents enjoy it. I would say the tour was very good and Donna was very motivated. You could tell she loves her job. She's the community outreach person, but she also plans all their events. They were having like a big 4th of July party the next day, and I saw all the prep for that. That was really cool. It just seems like a really spacious place. The rooms are bigger there too. I was just very impressed. They were very good. It's like a resort. They have a pool and the hot tub. They had like, almost on every corner, entertainment for them, like a putting green, a big movie room, and just a packed schedule every day. It seems like they do holiday things too. It seemed pretty good, with the amenities. Donna emphasized that people go there to live and not to die. So, people were enjoying the amenities and the events. There was always an opportunity to socialize. It seemed like a livelier place.

My mother is living in American House Bluewater Bay. It's fine, and she is happy there. I haven't had any real complaints at all. So far, so good. The staff is fairly nice. She is in independent living, so there is not a lot of eagerness to help her if she does need help, and that's been a little bit of a problem. I think the food is fine. She complains constantly, so I couldn't tell if it's actually good or not. She hasn't lost any weight, so I would say that the food is pretty good. It probably could be a little bit better at times as far as the variety, but overall, I think it's pretty good. The apartments are very nice, clean, and maintained very well. The grounds are kept very clean, nice, and free of any kind of debris or anything like that. They have plenty of activities. They should improve on the attitude of the staff, to help them understand that seniors are going through different phases of their lives. I think some of the staff are a little bit hardened to that and not patient enough at times.

American House Bluewater Bay has everything I need and is conveniently located. I like that they provide opportunities for socializing and education. I've had a meal there and it was quite good. I was quite impressed with the staff, especially the director. He was very informational, he had a good personality, and he seems like someone I would enjoy associating with.

Superior Residences at Bluewater Bay is a small community, and my mother has lived here a lot of her life. She knows a lot of people here. There are mostly retired military in the residence, and she’s familiar with them. It was a new facility when she moved in 2 years ago. It’s very nice and very pleasant and has fewer amenities, but it’s comfortable. The food is very good; the menu rotates every month, but they need more outside travel. If you wanted to go to the store, they only go once a week, so even though the store was only 10 blocks down the street, she was limited a bit in that.
