One Macdonough Place was a really good place. I stayed there overnight. The room was very comfortable, and the place was well cared for. I had an extraordinary lunch of a lobster roll for lunch. They had a chef who will make you custom food if you want it. That was quite a place. The staff went out of their way to make sure I got there safely, and they constantly checked on me to make sure I was comfortable. They couldn't have been better. They provided movies in your room or downstairs. There were some people playing board games, and they had a very comfortable room with newspapers. They also had a room where you can get coffee and snacks 24 hours a day.

We love One MacDonough Place! About a year ago, it became clear that my Mother needed to move to assisted living. We looked at 10 homes in Vermont and Connecticut. When we walked into OMP, my Mom knew this was the place for her. When we compared size (OMP is small and very personal), services (OMP includes more services in their base monthly rent than any other place we looked), reputation (excellent), and cost (OMP was at the lower end of the price spectrum and it is not-for-profit which means that their mission is to serve you not to make money from you), OMP was the obvious place to choose. We could not be happier! The staff is professional and so warm & caring! Everyone from the director to the maintenance crew knows every resident. The apartments and public spaces feel like home. The food is excellent. The kitchen accommodates personal likes (maple walnut ice cream for my Mom and sugar free canned pears for her new best friend). The activities are varied and plentiful. My Mom, who was very anxious about the move, is happier than she has been in years. She feels loved, safe and enjoys the company of many new friends. We couldn't be happier to see her so well situated. Thank you, OMP!

My Mom was a resident for 4 years. She always called it home. We never had any problems there. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. I was able to keep my Mom there and she passed away there. Didn't have to move her to a convalescent home or In Middlesex Memoril Hospice unit. Hospice came to her at One MacDonough

My mother was at One Macdonough Place. It was a fiasco. They completely mixed her medications and they did inappropriate things with her medications, which ended up with her being re-admitted to the hospital. It was like 3 years ago. The rooms were OK, but the staff was inexperienced. The only thing I can remember is that they were incompetent. I don’t like anything about it. They need to have their staff trained.

One Macdonough Place is right near the hospital. It's in a great location. Wonderful independence, yet you're safe, and you will have no worries for the family. It's very clean and neat. Wonderful people; very, very caring. The price for their quality of care is actually fair. I used to be a nurse, so I think this place really shines. It's one of the best places. I think I might go there.

While my experience there as a guest was limited, I did find the the amenities and the staff to be excellent. There appeared to be regular nightly activities for the guests to participate in, interesting meals (not just your typical, bland cafeteria food). Additionally, the guests I interacted with all seemed very pleasant and satisfied with their living conditions and their stay there. The staff were very friendly to me and my grandmother and did seem to have a general concern for her comfort and well-being. There is a nice outdoor area to walk around in and enjoy the summer months. My only complaint is that for folks who may be somewhat reclusive, the staff did not appear to encourage them as much as I'd like to participate in their activities. Eventually, my grandmother required more intensive care in a nursing home, but we left satisfied with our experience at One MacDonough Place. I would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation
