I have my own room in Lo-Har Senior Living. They help me with showers, they provide three meals a day, they help me with medications, they clean the room, and they wash my laundry. They have an activity where they go to the park and they celebrate birthdays. They always clean the facility, and they also help with making your bed. We will be getting activities back up. It is very clean and it is a nice area. It does get hot here in El Cajon, but we have air-conditioning, so it is very pleasant. They have clean rooms.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I visited this facility
I visited Lo-Har Senior Living. We stood at the gate for the longest time waiting for somebody to come greet us. We had an appointment, but it didn't seem like it. Once we got to talking and walking around and saw the place, it was OK. It wasn't a new community. They had individual, little residences that people could stay in. People could also share the residence, with four people to a residence. On both sides, there were two bedrooms that share a bathroom, and then they all share the kitchen and living area. They were very friendly, and the woman who showed us around was very nice. They didn't have somewhere where the residents can get together in one area to do things, but in their shared residence, they can watch TV and play games with each other. It was nice. The staff was very nice. The way it's set up is pretty nice because they have other people to be around all the time.

I visited this facility
Lo-Har Senior Living was a nice facility, but my mother felt like it was small. There wasn't much to do, and she felt like she would've been caged in. It was nice and clean, and the little cabins were nice, but she wasn't ready to be with roommates. These things have four people per bungalow or cabin. Some people might love that though. They also showed us the kitchen. The residents were intermingled quite a bit, and there were more memory care people than independent.

I visited this facility
I only was at Lo-Har Senior Living for a short period of time. They showed us the cottages. There was a kitchen, a dining room, and a very small living room. Two of the cottages were a two-bedroom. There was nothing wrong with it, but it wasn't suited to our mother.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
My mother was a resident here for approximately 10 years. The small home that is available to a limited number of residents is beautifully decorated, very much like a well-cared for home. There is a lovely yard for walking, which my mother enjoyed. The staff is very kind and considerate. There is a second building next door for clients who require more intense care. It was nice to be able to have my mother move there when it was necessary, and continue the contact with all the staff and may of the other clients. The staff always accomodated any special requests I had. They worked very hard to be all-inclusive in meeting the needs of the client and the family. Their communication was outstanding. This is a secure facility, which was important as my mother had dementia and wanted to wander. I never heard of any problems with the security. I felt quite happy to find a care facility that had so many positive attributes.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My mother is at Lo-Har Senior Living. They have different kinds of groups for different stages of people. It's a bunch of little cottages, and it's assisted living and memory care. She is sharing a room, and she gets along with all the other ladies there. They have little crafts, and they go out to concerts or whatever depending on what they're able to do or not do. The staff is all pretty good. They have yards, and people and organizations, like churches, come in and do activities.
