The tour at Harvest Retirement was good. It was OK. They're saying that they're short-staffed, so that's kind of a red flag for me, like the care for the people there would be less than what's expected. Everything else was organized, I just felt like it wasn't for my dad. The person giving the tour was pretty nice and they answered all the questions that I had. The rooms I saw seemed outdated and just weren't what I was looking for. They have a calendar of activities there on the wall that displays all the activities they have throughout the month.

3/25/2020 I would like to take a Moment to Thank All at the Harvest Retirement. My Mother In Law is in the Memory Care unit. She is really happy there. The Staff is extremely nice to her and pays attention to here. My Wife and I were taking care of her at home but due to here Advanced Medical condition we found the she really needed Special Care. I want to put a Special Thanks out to Betty and Jeffrey who helped us to get her into the home. Without them she would never have gotten in. I want to thank Laura(not sure if i spelled her name correctly) and Angie for always having time to assist my mother in law. You can rest assured they will be well taken care of here. My Mother in Law loves the food. She shares a remove with another elderly lady and she loves the company. They let you bring in items from home so I brought in my Big Screen TV for my Mother in Law and she and her roommate love it. They say the feel they are at the movies all day long. Thank you Harvest Retirement!!!!

Harvest Retirement was OK, but it seemed a little shabby from the outside. It was in a rundown area, but they had new owners, and they were doing a lot to fix it up. There were a few people sitting around, but a couple of residents said they were happy living there. I saw an empty, studio-type apartment.

Harvest Retirement was a very nice, clean community with nice rooms. It smelled very good. The staff was excellent. I looked around, but I didn't see anyone engaged in any activities. They showed me a room where people can sit and watch television and play games.

I have my mother in the facility, 2nd floor. The facility is very clean, no concern of any infestation whatsoever. My mother always clean, groomed, and dressed well. The staff is wonderful. I can truly say this is the best place I've had my mother in (and she's been in several). The staff is so attentive to my mother's needs and they are on top of any signs of concerns. What more can you ask for. When I'm away, I have no worries cause I know my mother is being cared for. The staff is always on guard and my mother is not left alone. They're always keeping an eye on her and the other residents. The administrative staff is wonderful! They have good meals for the residents, also an evening snack right before bedtime. They have them doing activities, coloring, sermons, entertainment. They've always been there to help with any questions in regards to my mother I did not understand. I would definitely recommend Harvest Retirement for your loved ones.

A gentleman showed me around Harvest Retirement (formerly Knott Avenue Residential Manor), and the place was amazing. They were having some remodelling going on. I really like that the showed me everything and gave me a complete walkthrough. He showed me the rooms, and I was able to observe the residents. It really was not a bad place. They had a good staff, and everybody was working hard. The place also felt upbeat.

We ended up going with a place called Knott Manor. Everything was good about it. We weren’t there very long. The staff was very friendly and very attentive to needs and interaction. I have nothing negative to say about the place at all. The room that my grandfather was in was brand new. He liked the food. There was a good variety and specials once a week. There were a lot of people that played bingo, and someone who came in and sang and played music.

Knott Avenue was very nice, and we were very pleased with it. The lady who is in-charge of it has been there for 18 years, and she is very loving. The love that she emanates through her staff emanates to the patient. It was very impressive. She would walk down the hall, she knew everybody’s name, and she spoke to everybody and everybody lit up when she spoke to them. It was just a wonderful atmosphere. We were very pleased. It was very good; the building is old, but it’s very clean. It was the atmosphere I loved; that was really outstanding. My mother didn’t like the room for a number of years, but she didn’t complain about at all; as a matter fact, she said she likes a couple of them. I was very pleased with that. The relationship was very open. I was welcome to come every time, and when there is a problem they responded very quickly. She was not very social because she couldn’t hear so she did not try to make friends, but the staff just went overboard trying to make friends for her. When I was in the office signing her up, the lady in-charge was sitting and called the lady in to meet me because she thought that my mother would like this lady, and this lady was very warm and very friendly. Another example, from the very beginning they took mother out and placed her with other people, and they insisted that she play bingo. She really didn’t want to play bingo, but they insisted that she do that, and one of the staff members playing bingo at one small table really emphasized friendship, and I really appreciate it.
