"I like that it is open and airy. There is a lot of light, and the people are friendly. They have a lot of interactive activities for the seniors. It is a very clean facility. He lives with his sister, and they have a very spacious room. It is very unique. The colors that they use are not depressing. They have a lot of windows. There is music playing when you walk in, and the seniors are interacting with each other."

"The food at Ivy Park at Cerritos was excellent, but the price was high. They have a small library, a beauty salon, and housekeeping. The staff was nice. The dining area was pretty, though it didn't have the white tablecloths and everything. The room was fine, except it wasn't for me. I wanted a kitchen. It didn't have a kitchen, stove, or oven, but the space was average. It seemed to be kept up well."

"The one I liked the most was called the Capriana. For one thing, they did have the requirement that you would move from one apartment to another as your need for assistance increased. That was a good thing. I thought they might have been more flexible on the buy in. It was nice. The dining room looked like a good set up. They didn't have a meal ready for us unfortunately, so I wasn't able to sample them, but we had one of those sandwiches, which was quite good. They had the usual range of activities. "

"Carmel Village Retirement Community was really nice, very decent, and very dignified. The staff was very good, and we were very happy. I spoke with a few residents, and they have been very happy there."

"I chose Park Plaza for my husband because of the service they provide. He has his own apartment that's small but very nice. They have activities like bingo and various exercise programs; it's a fun place. "

"I chose here and they have wonderful apartments with a full kitchen, which is the the main reason I'm moving there. It's a wonderful facility. When you walk in, you get a feeling of peace and warmth. It's just perfect. They have two buildings, one for independent living apartments and across the courtyard are facilities for those who require care. My overall impression is one of peace, serenity, and friendliness. Everyone is extremely friendly. The person who showed me around called everybody by their first name, and he knew every person we came in contact with. It was just a very warm and wonderful community. The food was well-prepared and tasty, and they had a very nice dining room with very nice service. You can be served if you're not able to go to the cafeteria line. "

"My aunt and uncle moved to Bayshire Yorba Linda. They can accommodate a lot of things. The grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. It was very spacious. It didn't seem like everything was kind of crammed in. The people that we met there were very helpful and very kind. We haven't run into any problems as far as helping my aunt and uncle. The food is very good. My uncle is not as social as my aunt. Even within memory care, they have a lot of activities to stimulate their brain, and to keep them busy. We've been very happy with the available activities. The value of memory care is awesome. It's pretty reasonable."

"I toured Oakmont of Huntington Beach. My mom liked the property a lot, so she's interested in getting on their waiting list. She's not quite ready to move in now, but for the future. It was independent living through assisted living, and they have a memory care center, too. It's a beautiful property with gorgeous gardens. The woman who gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and nice. She listened to my mom and what her needs were. The apartments were very spacious. There are a lot of really fun activities from workout classes to art classes, a lot of music, and lots of activities to do. The food looks really good, and the menu was impressive. It was immaculate, very well up-kept, and new. The staff was knowledgeable, nice, and warm. She was great, answered lots of questions, was very informative, and was very caring. A very nice person."

"We went to The Meridian at Anaheim Hills. The lady who showed us the place was very nice. We met other people too. They're very friendly and very kind. They showed us two apartments. The closets were small, and the rooms were small. They had an open kitchen concept, which my mother hated. They had a lot of brown on the floor and dark brown furniture. The kitchens were all updated, but with brown cabinets. My mother didn't like that because it was too dark for her. They were open and they were having games and exercises. Other than the fact that the room wasn't for my mother, it was good. The dining area for the assisted living was open. It was right across the hall from where she was going to be. My mother walks with a walker, so she could just get there very easily, and that was a very nice convenience. We asked them for some lunch. We had some soup and the soup was pretty good. My mother liked it. We only met one or two people and they were very nice and very kind. The facility was very nice. Another thing I didn't like about The Meridian, it had the air conditioning and heating unit on the floor in the living room. It was ugly and it took up some space."

"It was very pleasant, neat and clean. There were three people during the visit and they were all very handy and very helpful. The dining area was very pleasant. They had all kinds of activities like Bingo and arts and crafts, and they had an exercise area."

"I toured and the place is spotless and very pleasant. All the residents there seemed very happy to be there. The staff was very professional and very kind to the residents. It was not a large area but it was very pleasant. It was shaded with lots of chairs and umbrellas. They had raised flower beds for the residents to do some planting activity, so it's really nice."

"I felt so comfortable visiting here. I felt like it was home. I took my dog with me because they said they were pet-friendly and I loved the place. Everybody was just in a good mood. They were singing along in the lobby and I saw the way the people were acting towards the residents and they were great. The grounds and everything about it were beautiful. They were nice, easy to access, and clean. It's perfect. It's just not what I want right now. Someday maybe, since I still wanted to do my own stuff."

"I visited Park View Place. I was very pleased with the beauty of the hillside that this retirement center is built into. I did tour both the one-bedroom and studio apartments. There were several different floor plans. One of the things that I liked about it is that if I was interested in independent living, I would be able to park my car in the underground garage. I did see the exercise room and the dining room and the various activities that are planned by the staff there. I was not unimpressed by it. I really liked it, but now that I think back, I'm thinking about whether it's in an area that seems safe from fire and stuff like that. It was a multistory facility, so I went up to the floor that was independent living because I'm still living independently myself. The next floor down was the assisted living if you needed a little more help. I liked the fact that each unit had a little outdoor porch that overlooked a park. It's a beautiful place to look out from. I liked the fact that the units were very nice and clean and it was clear that the bathrooms had recently been refurbished and had the senior citizen in mind, for example, like a place to sit down when you're taking a shower, if that's what you need, and so on. I liked that the studio had a dividing wall in it that allowed you to have like a little sitting room. Right over on the other side of the wall was the bedroom area. It was generally pretty comfortable and very nicely kept and clean. I was interviewed by a young woman who comes from the same area of the world that I grew up in, so that made it extra nice. I didn't actually meet the manager because I did it on a Saturday and he was not working that day or was coming in later, but I had a very nice tour. I saw the other accommodations like the washer and dryer and that kind of thing. The washer and dryer was in a separate unit. It wasn't in the unit that I was visiting."

"My dad is here. It is fantastic in every aspect of care. They make sure the residents are OK and if they need any help. The apartments are small but efficient. They're very clean, very nice, and very new. The dining room is large. They also have a separate family dining room. If a family comes to see the residents, they can all be in a private dining room. They have a salad bar. It is very nice. It feels like a restaurant. Everyday on the calendar is filled with activities. They have a man cave and a workout room. They have outings, movies, speakers, and entertainment. There is never lack of a choice for something to do. "
