"I visited The Tower on 19th's senior apartments. It is 18 stories, but every time I've gone in there, it's very clean and very quiet. I never heard a lot of noise, and I didn't see a lot of people. The senior community and the people that you meet there seem to be friendly. It's not an assisted living facility, and you have to be independent to be there. They have laundry in the building, and whatever floor you're on, they have a trash chute that goes down to the basement. They have a library and a place where they have a piano. The staff members are pretty good and very helpful. They tried to help me as much as they could. The apartments have kitchens in them, so they don't have food provided at the place."

"My parents are residents of Atherton. They had moved there back in 1992. It's a complete retirement community. They also have regular residential living. They're in a quadruplex and they just did everything themselves. They were in independent, but now they're in assisted. My dad is a retired minister, so because of being a Baptist minister, he had a lifetime contract with them so that if he ran out of money, he still got everything and it was discounted to begin with. I think personally that they take better care of my parents and my parents think they do. I thought it was excellent and the only thing that mom was a little bothered about was that the people we ate with by the small dining room fell sleep. She wanted to be with people that she could converse with, not ones that fall asleep. My mom has physical issues. Almost all my life, she has had allergies so she does have to have care 24 hours. She had fallen while my dad was out shopping between their two beds in their regular apartment they had. She couldn't get up and she didn't have her emergency thing on because she had just awoken and gotten out of bed. She laid there for an hour and a half. My dad has been trying to hide some of her issues because he knows that they were to put her into skilled nursing. We went over and talked to the proper people about this, and they said they were aware of the fact she had laid there for an hour and a half. We were very concerned about that. I'm still going to give them a 4 because the other things are super excellent because it's very clean. It's older, but they keep it nice and warm and homey. The staff is very friendly. "

"Not knowing much at all about the Masonic Home at Covina before touring it, I did not have my expectations set all that high. However, I was almost immediately delighted with the pleasant atmosphere once I arrived. I was further impressed when I found out that they offer more than one level of senior care. Not only does Covina's Masonic Home offer an assisted living option, but also continuing care senior services, which I think is great. I left with the impression that Covina's Masonic Home is a very desirable senior care provider and I definitely believe that I would be content if I wound up there when I become a senior. I say this because when looking at the activities calender, there were outings that the residents could go on pretty much every single day. Other than outings, there were also a slew of on-campus activities listed that as a young college student, even I myself could see having fun participating in. All of the staff and volunteers are mandated to be fingerprinted and background checked before stepping a foot on the campus, which is wonderful. It is very important that elderly residents are in safe hands. The staff were very compassionate and every aspect seemed to cater to a top-not senior care environment promoting both health and recreation equally. "

"Prospect Manor seemed like it would be able to provide full service. For example, my dad has major mobility issues, but they're still willing to go forward with him. The staff seemed very knowledgeable and polite. The rooms appeared very clean. The whole place is very clean, very bright, warm, and inviting. I like the convenient location. They have different activities and the grounds are very nice. It looked very nice and welcoming."

"Del Amo Gardens offers skilled nursing to patients. The patient's level of care is a priority at this facility. The nursing staff and caregivers offer above average care, concern, and quality nursing to the patients. The environment is safe, sound, trustworthy, and clean. The Director of Nursing offers the family members an opportunity to vocalize their questions or concerns at periodic plan of care meetings. This is comforting and reassuring to the family member whose loved one is enrolled at the Del Amo Gardens Convalescent facility. "

"Everything was really nice at Hillcrest. We were more interested in the cottages. One had 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, your own washing machine and dryer, and a small yard, so we were interested in it for our dog. The dining area looked very nice and large. The food was good. The residents were more active than the ones we saw at other communities. "

"My stepmother lives in Villa Gardens. It's very attractive and pleasant. It has a large exercise and meeting area and excellent dining facilities and staff. The rooms have large windows and lots of light. I've been to their exercise activities and lectures, which were all excellent, particularly the exercise."

"The Canterbury seemed like a very nice facility. It was in a good location and it had good support services for their clientele. The staff is very kind, showed us around, treated us to dinner in the cafeteria, answered all our questions, and showed us a variety of accommodations that would potentially be available. We looked at 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. They showed us a meeting room, library, music room, and exercise room."

"We looked at a two-bedroom-two-bath cottage at Mount San Antonio Gardens. You can cook, and you can do whatever you want there. It's in an architecturally distinctive community. It's immediately adjacent to the city of Claremont, and the other place we visited is adjacent to the city of Laverne, but both of them, being from the same time period, are not nearly as congested as the San Fernando Valley or the San Gabriel Valley. The person we worked with had almost as many years' experience as the lady at the other place, except that she was about 20 years younger in age. She is working with seniors, and she has tried to do what she could, but I was more impressed with the overall staff at the other place. Mount San Antonio Gardens is a full-service retirement community inclusive of anything and everything that you could hope for. It is also a fully secure facility. I met and dined with the staff members and the residents who have been there for 10 years, and also those who have been there for a year."

"Inland Christian Home has nurses and an actual rehab center. They have outdoor activities; they’re very secure and safe. They also have daily activities but I’m not sure if they follow up with a schedule. What I like about it is they have senior apartment living on the same ground as memory care and assisted living. "

"The place was fine. The staff were respectful of myself and my family when we came to visit. They made sure that my grandmother had everything she needed to live her life without unnecessarily intruding on here day to day life. We ate the food there and it was pretty good. The pool was nice and the residents seemed happy. There seemed to be many activities for the residents to do. My grandfather, when he was still alive worked at a used bookstore that was part of the community, he really enjoyed that. When my grandmothers health went down hill and she was transferred to the high intensity care part of the community the staff seemed proficient. Everything through community was clean and organized. Community had many palm trees and walking paths, it was a very nice environment. Was it the poshest? No, but it did its job and was honestly the best that could be afforded by my family. "

"We chose them because it's close to my parents' home. It's clean, and they've got a friendly vibe, and competent staff. We were informed of activities and facilities. They have a physical therapy room, a workout room, a dining room area, and crafts and games for mental acuity for the residents."

"This assisted living provider is absolutely amazing. Everything from their nature walk trail filled with flowers, roses, stone benches and landscaped creeks that weave through trees, to the multitude of activities that they offer on and off premises. Every staff member that I have spoken to, from the dining hall associates to the members of their skilled nursing team and physical therapists, they are all extremely compassionate and passionate about the services they provide. A big-hearted community with people that truly care about and go the extra mile to provide an exceptional living experience during my Grandmother's senior years. The Covington is extremely well-managed and the entire place is one the best designed and the cleanest and most sanitized institutions I have ever seen.I would recommend The Covington to anyone looking for a safe and fun place for their loved ones to live.
