"From the second we toured the building, The staff were so warm and welcoming, i knew right away my mom would be taken care of and feel at home. My mom calls me every day to say how blessed she is that she is at Lone Oak. Even though the building is locked down right now, Lone Oak continues to love and care for my mom, and helps us to remain as in the loop as physically possible. This community is warm, and welcoming! Rooms 5 Stars! Interaction with staff 5 Stars. We are also so excited to see the activity program back up and running! "

"We visited this facility with my grandma.she already has some friends living there so she was most interested in this facility. Our first impression was very positive. The facility looks very nice and welcoming from the outside. The staff here were all very friendly and were more than happy to answer any questions we had. Residents get their own apartments and for a little extra they can have someone come in and clean for them. The apartments were nicely decorated and clean. There were a couple of different options as far as rooms. You can get a studio to a two bedroom. There is a nice common area and a cafeteria area. Residents can get their meals, which is nice. My grandma liked what she saw and we were pretty pleased as well. My grandma ended up putting her name down on the wait list so when there is an available apartment,they will give her a call. It was a pleasant experience. "

"My wife is in Middlefield Oaks' memory care. It's a really nice place, I'm very happy with the care she's getting there. She's not happy being there simply because of the Sundowners she's suffering from. One reason that I picked this particular community is the fact that I can go in and bring her out and take her to dinner, breakfast, lunch, or whatever, although, that's not possible now with the virus. The other thing that swayed me to this facility was when I'm done self-paying, I can go to Medicaid without her being evicted. They will go ahead and accept the Medicaid reimbursement. The hospital is also right across the street. My wife is suffering from Sundowners Syndrome and the people here seem to be working with her very well so that's another reason I like this place. There's a little area where they get together and those with enough brain power stay and play games like cards and all that. The staff is very helpful and they contact me 2 or 3 times a week to let me know what's going on. They have the assisted living out front and then the memory care is in the back. Sometimes, not now because of COVID, they let the residents intermingle if they're not escape-risk."

"Fox Hollow Residential Care Community is in a beautiful setting. Everything is beautiful. The staff was wonderful. They all stopped by to say hello. I spent time with the main person, and she talked about how it was structured. If you're a couple, you can live together, and if you needed help, you can go into the main building where you can get extra help. "

"Emerald Valley Assisted Living Residence is a medium-sized place which is what we prefer. The staff is very attentive and have been very responsive to our needs. Mom tells me that they are very nice, they provide quality care, and they make sure her needs are met. The place is very nice with a nice yard all the way around. They have walking paths all around and we really like the fact that it's in a quiet neighborhood setting, not on a busy street, which appealed to us as well. Mom has a 1-bedroom apartment which is very nicely done. It has a full bathroom and she's really comfortable there."

"The people in Valley West Health Care Center were wonderful to my mom. They're really good. The room was really spacious. Mom was by herself in the room, and she seemed really comfortable. She's also right next to the nurse's station, so they get to her really easy. It was really good. She was there for several weeks for rehab. They were remodeling but I think it was still very clean, nice, and really bright. They have a wonderful courtyard that we can go to, they also had a great big dining room with a large-screen TV. And they had all kinds of crafts and hobbies, and things like that, so her time was well-spent. The food was good, my mom had a not really good appetite so they made something appetizing for her or what she was wanting. We were on Medicare then."

"I have much to say about Applegate cntr. My mother was there and my wife of 18 years is now in there care i visit 7 days a week sometimes 2and 3 times a day 7 days a week and as far as im concerned applegate is the only care home in the county , "and i have been to many of them". that i would put any member of my family member in including myself i will continue this letter later, but i have not the words to express how wonderful applegate has been to my mother my wife and myself.you will hear from me soon..... "My mom is at ElderHealth & Living. It's very clean, very organized, and very well maintained. The staff has been excellent. My mom has a twin-sized hospital bed. She has a roommate, and the room is pretty large. We were able to put her belongings on the wall like photos and paintings and things that she likes. They have a nice kitchen. There are multiple tables, and they sit them accordingly. My mom has severe dementia, and she can be pretty combative and angry, but I know that she has coloring books, and there's a grassy area outside that is covered that she likes to go outside when we visit. But as far as other activities, I have no idea and she doesn't participate. I would say it's an excellent place. It's very expensive, but we're in the process of getting my mom qualified for Medicaid. It's pricey, but it's excellent care."

"There is nothing I don't like at Spring Valley Assisted Living Residence. They are very kind, and they have good staff. The food is good. It's a very lovely, clean place. The only reason that the person I was taking care of moved out is because he became too high of a level of care, so he had to go to a place that took better care of him because he needed more help. We were looking initially for an assisted living, just somebody to help my loved one, because he broke his foot. As time went on, he developed more problems, and so they told him he had to leave and go to skilled nursing or something. Everything was good, though. It was very clean. It's laid out well."

"We just moved my mom into Gateway Living. It's a unique set-up because they have several buildings and each building houses about 14 people. It is really quite nice. The rooms are small, but freshly painted, clean, and carpeted. There are individual and shared rooms. They have a common area where they have a living room, a kitchen, and a dining room. There's also an outside area where people can go out and sit. They provide activities, meals, and whatever level of care residents need. They take people places when they want to go places. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. I've looked at about four other places and this one was a little more reasonably priced."

"I like the idea of the transitional care there at Ascot Park Senior Living. I think that's the part that my husband would fit into at this time. He would fit better in between memory care and assisted living, so I would have been very happy with that. They have separate cabins. They call them cabins but they are facilities for about 20 people in each area. Everything was first class. It was very nice. They have a large fenced area that was a garden area. They even have raised gardens for the residents where they could plant their own little garden. They take the residents on a scenic drive if they want to. They take them shopping and to events at no extra charge. I was very pleased with them. If we decide to move to Eugene, that's where we would go. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful. My daughter attended with me, and the staff must have talked to us for an hour in her office. She's a former nurse, and she went over a lot of details about how they interact with their residents, and how we should interact with my husband to the care or the transition into assisted living. She was just a really thoughtful and informative person. The place was very clean, very pleasant, and well-maintained."

"I am going to move to Grace Manor Senior Living's independent living. It's small but from what I can tell, it's a great community. I was there yesterday and met several residents, it's a very friendly place and the food is great. The meals, cable, internet, electricity, heat and air conditioner, they're all included. They have physical activities, they have movie and popcorn afternoons, and they have art activities, and I get to take classes on art. They're very big on community. They have music on Sunday afternoons, the director plays the piano for them. There are a lot of get-together meals. It's very clean and very nice, it only has about 60 units so it's small but inside it looks huge. The only thing I would add is it's small but they use every foot of that place to the maximum, and it's not crowded."

"One of the hardest decisions for any family to make is to send an aging parent to Assisted Living or "the home” as some people call it. Our 89 year old mother was recovering from serious health issues and because of the need for trained medical care and management of medications we were unable to care for her at home. We talked about Assisted Living for a short period while she recovered and selected Sheldon Park because of the beautiful facility, incredible staff and the care available. Mom is now recovered and when asked about moving back home she tells us to move somebody else into the house because she is having too much fun at Sheldon Park. They handle her medications, do the cooking, spoil her with kindness and care and best of all give her the opportunity to choose every day what activity she is going to participate in. She has made numerous friends and enjoys visiting daily with all of therm. In fact, it is hard to ever find her in her room because she is a very happy and busy lady. Sheldon Park is an amazing place with incredible caregivers, staff and administrators. We highly recommend it!!! "
