"My experience was very nice. The rooms were also very nice. They seemed very upscale to me. They have short trips with the bus to take them to see different things that are happening in the area. They have doctors on-site. The staff seemed very sociable. The dining area was very nice. It was pretty meticulous."

"My father in law has been a resident at the Villas for over two years. During the past two years the amazing staff have embraced him like one of their own which as you can imagine takes tremendous amount of anxiety off a family. For a resident who is going to be 96 you can only imagine the comfort that he feels from all of the attention that he is receiving. Over the past two years he had a number of health and wound issues nonrelated to the facility that have required a significant amount of attention by the nursing team. This has been addressed not only timely but by constant updates to the family on the status of his wound care and health status on a regular basis, sometimes daily, sometimes weekly. The wound program led by Joy has been amazing, attentive and proactive in facilitating wound healing. The wound program includes daily monitoring, treatment, weekly wound rounds with a Nurse Practitioner, and nutritional assessment with the Registered Dietician. What a relief for him not to have to leave the facility for any additional treatment. The entire Nursing Team including Laquasia, Joy, Sue, Becka, and others treat him like their own family member. The nursing team are continuously monitoring him and are accessible and responsive to any questions or concerns we as a family have. My father-in-law is not an overly social person however the activity team led by Kristin get him up and engaged and “smiling” which is by no means an easy feat. The Villas does an amazing job with their big events including a Luau last month complete with a “hula dancer” and this month Octoberfest for the residents and families which included arts and crafts, petting zoo and face painting which was enjoyed by all. My father in law is not the easiest however he goes into the dining room and the dining staff immediately meet his nutritional requests with constant attention. Overall, as a family we feel that we have made the right choice in choosing The Villas as a home for our family member and couldn’t be happier."

"We chose Millennium Memory Care for my aunt because there were only fifteen people there, and it's like a house type of environment with five staff members, so it wasn't like a big institution. There's a lot of sunlight and it's only for people with Alzheimer's. We haven't got the chance to go inside because of the COVID, but as far as the attentiveness and calling us back, it's been good. They have a program now where she's having help with her swallowing, they got her a better wheelchair, they're gonna have somebody come in for four hours a day, and she sees a doctor once a week. She's getting much better care than what we can give her at home. I also like the staff. The facility looks like a home that's built in the neighborhood because in Holmdel, all the houses are big, and this looks like it fits into the neighborhood. It's a bit expensive, but I feel like we're getting what we paid for."

"When the doctors at Bayshore Hospital determined that my 91 year old mother needed special care that only an assisted living facility can provide, like any son who had cared for and lived with his mother during her time of need, I was a little apprehensive. My mother has been a resident of the Millennium Memory Care in Aberdeen (recommended to me by Bayshore Hospital) for close to a year now and I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with the attention of care my mother receives from their dedicated staff. Not only does she receive medical care, medication management and regularly scheduled checkups, they also provide a hair dresser and hold holiday parties. Now with the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff has suspended visitation and put other measures in place to safeguard the health of their residents. I would recommend this Care facility to anyone. "

"My mom has moved into Sunrise of Lincroft. She said she loves this place and made a decision before we even left. It has been there for 40 years, and she liked that it was very homey, like very familiar, and smaller. It felt more like home, and it had a warmth about it that she liked. We went and saw a possible room for her and did a little tour. Before we even got to the elevator to go back downstairs, she said, "I love it here." The staff that I have dealt with, I love them. I haven't had any issues; I think they're all great. I know that they have a lot of Catholic things because it's a large Catholic community, so they have a rosary group every day. They do movies, play bingo, and have certain games. They celebrate whenever they can. I remember, my mom was in the hospital, and she was gone for like a month and a half. When she came back, I asked if they wanted it if I made cupcakes for everybody, so I made like 105 cupcakes, and we brought them in and we did it as an activity for everybody to decorate. If you didn't want to decorate on your own, you can take one that's already decorated. We did it so that everybody could have an opportunity to have a cupcake or decorate a cupcake. It was to celebrate my mom returning, and they accommodated that nicely. They're very festive. I want to go there and eat every day. Their food is good. If you're not a resident, you're not allowed in the dining area, but I had the opportunity the other day because there is an issue with my mom, and she missed lunch. So, I went in with her afterward and they told me because we were the only ones in there except for maybe like three people, they let me sit in with her. She had a butternut squash soup that they made, and they have an egg salad. I got to taste them, and I think the food is delicious. Even the staff says they love to eat the food there. The food is good, smells delicious, and tasted good. They'll serve wine if you like it, with your lunch and dinner. They let everyone have a glass of wine if they want. I think it's very lovely. It's set up like a formal dining room. There are tablecloths and cloth napkins, it's very nice. They're given a menu every day; there's a menu posted, but they're each given a menu at their table. I love it, and it's nice. I think all the chairs maybe, or most of them, are rolling chairs. This is much easier for the seniors to get in and out. If you want to stay in your wheelchair, you can stay in your wheelchair. There are a couple of times that I'm not allowed to go in there, and they have a really cute pub area outside the dining room. If I want to come and have a sandwich with my mom but I don't want to take her off premises and I want to have a meal with her, she can come out to that side. She is still near the dining room, but I'm allowed to sit there with her. There's a jukebox and they leave out fruit or cookies and little cakes; sometimes whatever they have to leave out for the residents to stop by and pick up. That's my cupcakes out there one night because there were some extras. I would give them five across the board on anything. I had an issue; my mom had a problem. I brought it to the director right away. Because she was just leaving to go to lunch, she put it down, grabbed the chair, flew over, and sat next to my mom. She genuinely listened to my mom's concerns because there was an issue, and everybody's perspective is different. The staff member's perspective was reported, and my mom was not. When I finally was able to get my mom to not be upset and talk to me, she told me about it. When I saw the director, she didn't wait. She put her lunch down, but she didn't go put it in her office. She came over to us, put it down at the table nearby, pulled up a chair, and talked to my mom right away. I thought it was wonderful. She had lots of respect for my mother. That is actually why I started to view the sunrise. I did some research online after going into some places and not being too thrilled. I got used to the sales pitch that's kind of all it was when I went to places. I looked into the company, and I liked the company's motto and vision. They care about the elderly, and they expect that their staff always treats their residents with absolute respect and dignity. So, when my mom had an issue that one of the aides wouldn't leave the room while my mom was using the bathroom, my mom was very upset. It became an issue, and my mom is reported for being nasty, but the part about the woman not leaving the bathroom and my mom liking the privacy was not reported. So, when we discussed it, the director was like, "Oh, no, I don't blame you at all. I would expect her to leave, too." she validated my mom's concern instead of making my mom feel unheard. That was important, and they do want you to feel like you're comfortable enough to come up and speak to them. I feel it's run like a family more than it's run like a business, and I think that's why my mom loves it. In terms of value for money, it's pretty much what you expect. It's better priced than most places too, because I've gone to other places that were the same price and not as nice, or more expensive and just about the same"

"I have high regard for Millennium at Monroe. My wife was there 3 and 1/2 years. The staff always treated her with dignity and respect. I visited almost every day. I saw only appropriate behavior and extreme patience by the staff. They also stand out in the medical needs area. My wife obviously had some medical problems. The staff always addressed the problems, and if needed called in the right expert. They also have a highly qualified doctor that comes in and in the network of the larger insurers. The drug cost are also controlled by Millennium. I would like to give special thanks to Sarah, Maria, Edith and Lenora. They are true professionals.."

"When I went here, I saw staff interacting with the residents, which I liked. I kind of felt like I had to see something like that to see how they treated the residents. They were all very friendly. The residents even said hello to me. It was a nice community. I'm leaning more towards that one only because mom has about two years to pay out of pocket, and if she's a little short, they'll work with me. That's the conversation I had with the people. I want to make sure that they would have a room for my mom when she switches over to Medicaid. They also have people in-house that I could deal with for that transition when that happens. The woman was very nice. Every question I asked her, she had an answer. When you go visit, on your way out, they give you a little box and it's something from their bakery that the chef made and this happened to be a blueberry muffin and it was delicious. I didn't save it for anyone. I ate the whole thing myself. The facility was very clean, very new, and very updated. They had beautiful flooring down. They have a hair salon, and they have certain doctors come in like podiatrists and things like that for the residents. They have their cable TV, and they try to keep them out of their rooms and involved in all kinds of little activities there, bingo, baking, stuff like that."

"My mother has moved into CareOne at East Brunswick Assisted Living. She's in memory care stage one. They have four different stages and that's what's great about that community because most of the memory care facilities, they're all together. When your mother doesn't need the memory care yet and she's in the very, very early stages, it's great, because they actually do more than the assisted living people, and they're more active. The facility is absolutely beautiful, very clean, and brand new. They have so many activities to do. They're always busy, and they're never in their rooms. The food is really good. It's all buffet style, so they can pick and choose, and they're open 24 hours for snacks and all that kind of stuff. They're very well organized. They're there at the drop of the hat. If you call them or if there are any problems, they solve them quickly. I can't say enough about them. They really got it together there. My mother loves the food. They have an ice cream parlor where they all go down and have ice cream with all the amenities that you need. It's always changing, and if you didn't like anything, you can always request something. They'll see if they can accommodate you. I wouldn't call it The Ritz, but it's decent food."

"Sunrise of Shrewsbury is a beautiful new facility. It's big and it's gorgeous. I wish I was 55, I would move in tomorrow. I loved it. While I was waiting to go in for a tour, I heard a sing-along going on in the background. I was sitting in front of the fireplace there, I turned around, and they were having a sing-along for their happy hour. They have music playing and they were singing together and had their little drinks. Everybody seemed happy. Then I got to smell food, and I went home starving because it smells amazing. Nicole was amazing, she's the director. She gave me the tour because the other person had gone home already. While we walked around, she knew everybody's name. Everyone said hello and smiled at her. You couldn't have staged it to be that amazing. She was involved with everything, helping people that looked like they might have been struggling with their walk, getting an elevator, holding an elevator for somebody, and picking up things. If she saw a piece of trash on the floor, she'd take it out. She said, even though everybody has a job, no one here is above doing a different person's job, or below doing somebody else's job. Everyone's here to help. Whether the person is working on maintenance, or you're the director, or in sales, whatever your job is, if somebody needs a hand with something, you're willing to help. That's what they're looking for, for their staff, and that's why I fell in love with them. I only got to smell the food, but it smells amazing. We were there when some of the guests were finished eating already, and she asked everybody how they enjoyed their meal, and it was delicious. It's brand new, immaculate, and clean. It has all the amenities that you would want in a new place. Even when we went on the outside deck, they brought the pillows in to make sure that they didn't get rained on and whatnot. Since it was just built, they didn't miss a beat on amenities."
