"We have chosen the Provision Living at St. Joseph for my mom. She is currently residing in their assisted living. She's the one who chose the facility after her initial evaluation meeting. She felt she liked it being smaller, that each individual had a room, and that it was not set up so much like a hospital. She liked that setting. She liked that there were many people there who were around her age, that it seemed more like a community setting or family setting, and everybody was pretty much in tune with each other. It has a community feel about it and she liked that. The dining room and all the facilities are fairly new. The staff is very attentive and very nice. They have infrared cameras on the entire development so that if anyone has a fall, regardless of whether it's inside or outside of their grounds, assistance can find them through the camera and offer them aid. It doesn't even matter if it's a resident or a visitor, they will be helped. The residents are doing activities on their own. They have a calendar of events, whether it's for exercise classes, bingo, or outings. Their meals have a certain time too and their 3 meals a day are provided but you don't have to partake in them. Often, my mother doesn't eat lunch so she won't always go down for that meal. She is welcome to have a guest attend with her if she so chooses. She hasn't done that yet but you can let the staff be aware of that if you know for a fact that some of your family is coming. They also have a separate room if there is a birthday event and you wish to have many family members there. You can reserve the room so that you can all get together for a special event. They also offer movies because they have a movie theater. I have not personally tried the food but my mother is very fond of it. She thinks they have quite excellent food there. They have a chef on staff and apparently, he does a very good job because she has gained some weight."

"My husband will be moving to Blueberry Hill Assisted Living. We had a very nice tour of the place, and the staff was very nice and informative. They also have lots of things for the residents to get involved in. I don't think the assisted living room we saw was the largest, but there was nothing wrong with it. The upkeep of the place was very good, too. We went through the dining area, and it was very clean."

"My uncle is comfortable at Kelly's Hillside Manor. He likes the other people who live there. He likes the guy who owns the place who also takes him to all his doctors' appointments. My uncle shares a room with a fella and they get along really well. The owner's wife is from the Philippines and she does all the cooking, so she cooks Filipino food and my uncle really likes it. The owner takes them out for a pizza once every two weeks and asks them if they want to go to a movie and if they do, he takes them. Don, the owner, is a really great guy who cares a lot about the people. He always talks to them and listens to what they have to say."

"Freedom Village Holland was very nice. The food was excellent. The staff was very good, but you have to move to Holland. They don't have garages. The grounds are not pretty, but they have a beautiful facility. We've stayed there overnight. Their activities are very good. It costs more there, so you don't get as much value for your money, but I still think they're great. They have bus activities, they have travel activities, they go to different countries as groups, they have a full-size Olympic swimming pool in the facility, a jacuzzi, and a hot tub. They have an attached care facility. It's a quality unit. There's nothing wrong with that facility other than it's just big. It's seven stories and big problem is the slow elevators. If you want to go to supper, you take your time."

"My father has moved into American House Holland. What made us choose this place is the location, the friendliness of the staff, and the knowledge and condition of everybody in the building as well as the building itself. It's very clean. My father has a 350-square-foot studio apartment. It's very nice and open. He has large windows for plenty of outside viewing. And it's conveniently located close to where he eats, so he doesn't have to walk very far."

"My grandma was a resident at Forest Glen & she absolutely loved it. Care staff are exceptional when it comes to care and providing a comfortable home. Fresh cooked meals daily & her room was always clean and show ready! 10/10, I recommend Forest Glen to everyone."

"Lighthouse Assisted Living was small but very homey. It gave you a feeling of almost being in a home rather than an institution. They may only have six or seven residents, I think. The place was very clean, and the owner who showed me around was very informative. In fact, she had worked for a senior-living facility for eighteen years, so she's very experienced. The other staff member was very pleasant too. The menu looked very nice, and they said that it was just like a regular kitchen in your home. It's not a huge kitchen, though, since they didn't have that many residents. They had a piano, a table that was set up with puzzles, a nice patio in the back with chairs, a grilling area, and a laundry facility."

"I will be moving my godmother into Golden Orchards. It's a great facility. I think with all the ones that I ended up walking through, this was number two on my list, but as far as the preferences for my godmother, it would be number one, just because it's so close to where she goes to church. The atmosphere is amazing. The cost is extremely good for the area. We toured it for assisted living, but I was able to see the full layout of the whole facility. The staff was readily available. I've had great communication with them and the facility is amazing. All in all, I think they're doing a really good job. The different amenities are far beyond what I could have imagined. It seems like they care about what the residents need."

"My Dad has had a difficult time getting old and not being as independent as he is used to being. The supervising staff have always looked out for dad and tried to help him enjoy his new home. Since I live thousands of miles away I've been very thankful for them. During my visits the residents and staff have been kind."

"My husband was in The Willows Assisted Living in St. Joseph. They were very caring and very helpful. It was clean, and everybody was wonderful. He was in their memory care. The food was excellent. The staff was just very helpful. It is a wonderful place to put your loved one in."

"We toured White Oaks. What I liked about it was that it was very busy. There were lots of people around, residents, and staff. Kathy is the one who took me on the tour and she did a great job answering questions. She followed up as well. For the activities, I asked questions like, "I think my mom would need someone beside her if she went on an activity". So she told me how they would handle that situation. We didn't see any of the regular rooms. They have two sections that are for memory care, and they're nice rooms. They're big enough that you could have a twin bed, a dresser, a recliner, or a loveseat. They were big enough and clean. I like their place, too. I think the building was well-maintained and it appeared to be clean. I didn't see anything that needed to be done."
