"I spent one day at Carnegie Village, and I was impressed by the facility and the amenities. It was clean and well-organized. They have several rooms, and I settled for a two bedroom unit. Their rooms are sizable and comparable to a regular home or apartment. All the staff I encountered were friendly. I will be moving there this July. They have three meals a day plus snacks throughout the day. "

"My mother-in-law is in Sunrise of Leawood. It's adequate. For what we had to work with and price, it's good. I've had some communication issues with their nursing staff. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's bad. The CNAs seem to be doing really well, but some of the actual nursing staff could use some help. "

"We are residents of the Garden Villas of Lenexa. What we like best is that we have an adequate apartment size, and the least, sometimes they're a little slow with their maintenance, otherwise it's OK. They're short-staffed a lot. But the food is good, it's laid out OK, and they keep the place clean."

"We like Trustwell Living of Overland Park the best mainly because it was a smaller facility, and it was built in an H shape. The dining areas and other areas were in the center, and you walk out of your room and then there was the elevator, so it was not so much of a walk from a person's room into the outside areas and the eating areas. For some reason, we like it better. The staff were very nice. They do assessments of the residents to make sure what level they would need to be, and a person's doctor would order assisted living. Nobody had ever said something like that. They have different therapies, they have podiatrists that come in, they work with a dental group, and they have beauticians that come in, but this is the only one that ever mentioned a podiatrist. We like the layout, and the rooms were nice, too. The location was convenient, which would be another thing. There weren't that many residents and it was a smaller facility."

"This community is outstanding. The staff is exceptional. They are always helpful and friendly. The care is exceptional. Never had any problems and my friend had plenty of activities to choose from. There is a very active community with all sorts of interests available. There are shuttles available for residents. The rooms are wonderful - private and well-appointed. "

"My husband moved into The Village at Carroll Park, and it's been very good. They are extremely caring and have gone above and beyond to make his stay as comfortable as possible. Anything that he's needed, they've been willing to try to figure out a way to get it or to work with him. The facility is not new, but it's very clean and well-maintained. The staff members are extremely helpful. I consider their food homestyle cooking. What my husband had was extremely good food. They have a lot of activities. We chose it because of the people who were there when I went and toured, as well as the cost."

"Country Club Estates is a little bit older, but has a homey atmosphere. For activities, they take the residents to places. They have books, puzzles, and event nights. I did not try the food, but my dad says it's okay. They offer assisted showers, medication, and transportation. They also offer internet and cable TV. They provided the beds and furniture. They are more homey, which is perfect for my dad. It's a bit dated, but that's just me. It looks perfect for my dad."

When I called to ask about my husband, I want to be told some detail about how he is. Sometimes I had a problem of getting hold of someone. But the place was clean. It had more of a home like atmosphere, and they had good meals. "

"I did visit Vintage Park, and this is assisted living. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for because it is an assisted living, and I thought it was independent living. However it is pretty much independent because the apartments have a kitchenette, private bath, and walk in shower, but it wasn't really what I was looking for. "
