"I live in Magnolia Manor South. They've been good to me. All my family has moved out of town, so I'm going to where my family is. The staff and facilities are doing pretty well. I come and go in my own pace in the independent living. I don't go to the dining area because I eat in my apartment. I have a two-bedroom place. They don't have very many activities. They may have a birthday party once a month or something like that, but it's not very much. They have a worship service but I don't take part in any of it, and I think they're overpriced. So for me, it's just a place to live. They have call buttons in the apartment, so if I need help I could pull it. It's a nice place. It's well-kept and they keep up the property."

"I had a chance to your Azalea Gardens it is a beautiful community, was greeted by a warm office manager was offered coffee etc and given a wonderful your by the Director. The staff was very pleasant and greeted us with a warm smile. They all seem to be involved with the residents weather it was a large setting or more one on one. I love the fact that they learn the people who moves in there life story and role that into there daily living. The calendar seem to be exciting. I actually met some of the residents heading out for their weekly luncheon with I thought was great. I'm very excited about Azalea being out on Thomasville road , I was excited to know that they will have a day program starting soon. I was very impressed with Azalea as a whole."

"I am very familiar with this facility and its staff. To begin with the facilities are very clean and accommodating. The interior is well maintained and fresh. Hallways are well lit with grab rails on either side. I have eaten there on several occasions and found the food to be well balanced and tasty. The grounds are well maintained and they planted a living Christmas tree in the courtyard to be enjoyed year round. The staff have always treated me with a smile. The entire has always gone out of their way to help. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place for a loved one. "

"My father has Alzheimer’s, and Magnolia Place has a memory care unit. It is very homey and family-oriented. The staff is wonderful and very helpful, and they give their residents a lot of individualized care. The rooms are very clean, very well kept, and very homey. They are carpeted and nice, very comfy and roomy so they can get around. He uses a walker, so the rooms are fine. They are nicely decorated and have a little kitchenette with a refrigerator, and a good-sized bathroom and shower room. He loves his food and looks forward to his meals. The pricing is very reasonable. It's very quiet, and that is why I chose it; he does better in quiet places. It is a really calm environment, which is what he needs. "

"My mom has moved into Villas at Killearn Lakes. This one was highly recommended by friends of mine. It has small villas with only 12 residents in it, and I like the much smaller environment for her. They have an entryway, a large bedroom, and a large handicapped-accessible bathroom. They open onto the main area of the villa where the dining and living is. The food is excellent. It's all homemade right in front of them. The staff are all very attentive to the elders. They're very efficient and hardworking. I am impressed that not a single one of them walks around with a cell phone. There are a lot of musical activities, arts and crafts, and pet therapy services."

"We found Presbyterian Homes for my mom. It's excellent and their rooms are like college dorm room. My mom has a private room, which is ten steps to the nurses station and 15 steps to the dining room. Everything she needs is right there. As far as amenities, they have a beauty shop and a pool, which hardly anybody uses. They do offer things that elderly people are not able to do anymore because of their situation. They also provide meals. Everything seems like it's going good and it seems like it's a really good place. They're also always very clean."

"I have friends at The Golden Apple Carriage House. They are happy, and they highly recommend the place. It is well kept. There are games, and they play Bingo. They have access to a limousine that takes them out where they want to go. They keep the residents very active. My friends are really impressed with the food. It is nutritious, and they have a good variety. "

"Westminster Oaks was the best of the ones I toured. It is the most expensive, but it offers more independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. But my parents, who I was looking for a place for, are not interested at this time. They offer 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, and independent homes, and they provide 1 meal a day. They do have a big buy-in, which is more expensive than anywhere else, and they also have a 2-year waiting list. Their menu looked good, I have eaten their food, and the food was good. They offer a lot of programs; it is an excellent program. It has granite countertops and lets you customize some of your amenities. "

"We’re basically happy with most of it. There are little things here and there but, for the most part, I’m pretty happy, and my mom is getting used to being there. She’s got one of the smaller rooms, which is good for her, with her own bathroom and all of that. They have a common living area for the rooms and what they call her neighborhood. They have about 4 different neighborhoods and for the rooms that are near her, they have a little living area with tables, chairs, a communal panty, a refrigerator, cupboards, and stuff with snacks and all that kind of good stuff, so I am pretty happy with it.
