"I went to Tapestry Senior Living - Lakeshore. I like the fact that they have a concierge at the front pretty much all day. They work 12-hour shifts or something like that. I also like the fact that they have a higher staff ratio there than they did at some of the others that I checked into. I like the activities that they provide, and I like the fact that they have an enclosed patio area for the residents and a walking area for dogs. The rooms were very nice. They have larger refrigerators than some of the others had. They had like almost full-sized refrigerators, microwaves, nice spacious bathrooms, and good-sized rooms. They seemed to be nice. The staff who toured me did an excellent job and she was very helpful and very informative. The place was clean and well-kept. We toured all the assisted living and they told us about their independent living and memory care."

"I really liked Westminster Oaks because their setup is different than other senior living facilities. They have houses or apartments that are in a neighborhood for those who need somebody to come in and remind them to take medication but aren’t quite at a level where they need 24-hour care. In the heart of this little community, they have a facility where each resident has their own room set up like an apartment. I got a really good feeling from it. I am pretty sure this is the one we are going into when the time comes because I like that they give you the option to bring in your own caregiver. The staff is always very cordial, very professional, and answered every question I had. They were on top of everything."

"We visited Camellia Oaks. It's a fifty-five-plus community, it's brand new, and they're in Tallahassee. I think they already have sold sixty-something homes. It's just a year old, but they've already finished phase one of the building process. The staff was cordial and seemed friendly. We met some people as we went in and out, and they seemed very friendly. They have a clubhouse, a gym, and a lap pool. There's also a small lake there, so there were folks fishing, and there are walking trails. They've also just started a yoga class and some type of arts and crafts. They're all individual homes with some duplexes, and they all have open areas. It's also very close to a hospital, a Costco, a Walmart, and a TVS, so it's convenient for things that you would need."

"My brother will be moving into Brookestone Senior Residences. We chose it because of their price. It was a very nice place and it had disability assistance. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The rooms looked fine, and they were wheelchair accessible."

"The facilities of Allegro were not quite as nice as the other place. If you put in laminate floors, you have to pay so that they could put back the carpet when you die. They have 1 and 2-bedroom rooms available. Their waiting list is much shorter. I liked how it was much smaller -- only 120 people so they were not spread out over such a wide area -- but their rooms were not quite as updated. "

"My parents are in Tapestry Senior Living Walden. My mom is currently independent and my dad is assisted, and we feel like he's getting the care that he needs. They offer three meals a day, they have a salon and they will take them to doctors' appointments. The staff I've come in contact with has been wonderful."
