My mother has been at The Grove at Canopy for a couple of months now. It's new, it's beautiful, and they have a lot of staff, which is really important. The food is wonderful, and my mother is very happy. It's a one-bedroom, and it's an apartment. She has bedroom, a bath, a living room, and a kitchen. They have a full slate of activities. They constantly offer things to people; it is just a huge array. The staff are kind, gentle, and caring. They call if there is an issue, and they are very communicative with the families. They do a perfect job. They have a wide range of activities for all different levels and tastes. It is a very nice and varied activity schedule. She gets her hair done there, and she gets her physical therapy. For what they get, and for the care that they give, it is excellent.

From the tour that I took, I was thoroughly impressed with The Grove at Canopy. The willingness of the staff to assist me and help me just gave me a great feeling when I walked inside the place. I think that most of the buildings were very well-maintained and very clean. The overall appearance was very nice. They have everything there. They have a salon, a movie theater, and a restaurant. Their dining room appeared to be more like a restaurant where you walk in and there's somebody there that helps you get seated and given menus. It just looked like a high-class hotel.

We're on the waiting list for The Grove at Canopy. I thought it was great, it was clean, and it's somewhat new. The staff has just been wonderful. I've dealt with the sales staff and they're very responsive and informative as well, and they gave us a great tour. We liked it and hopefully, something will open up. They've been responsive to callbacks and things like that. They have a separate area for assisted living and that's good. I like their dining room, it was clean and pleasant looking. They have a salon, and a small gym and they have a lot of sitting areas.

My friend is staying at The Grove in Tallahassee. I have been up there several times, and it's a nice place. The only thing negative that I can say about it would be the fact that she does not see a doctor as often as she should. There seems to be a lack of communication, maybe somewhere along the line, as far as the doctor coming in to see her. That's where the facility falls short: the medical care. The doctor has seen her, but to me, if you are spending the money to stay there, I think that you should not have any problems having a doctor coming in to check when you have something going on. The place is very nice, the people are very friendly, and I don't think there is any problem there. The only thing I have seen as an issue was seeing a doctor more often. They have nice apartments, and it is a new place too. She has a small apartment; she doesn't need a large one. She has her own kitchen, a utility area with washer and dryer, a nice-sized living room, a bedroom, a bath, and a closet. Everything is very nice. They have enough activities. She is talented with art, so they would bring some of that into the activities. They were also having live music performers doing musical things but, of course, it had to stop because of COVID. They also have church services. I would say the place is probably one of the better ones. The food is OK, and they have started going back to the dining room to dine. For a while, they stopped going there and ate in their rooms because of COVID. A few weeks ago, several people got COVID, so that was when they stopped dining in the dining room. They take the residents out for walks, and they have a bus that transports them out to shop. Of course, my friend doesn't go because she's in a wheelchair. The amenities are good, too. They have nice patios and terrace areas. It's a pretty place, and it's clean. As far as the facility is concerned, it's a very nice facility.

My mom was the first resident of Memory Care at The Grove. Since the day she moved in, we couldn’t be more pleased with her care. Sameka, the Memory Care Director, is caring and compassionate with many years experience in the unique needs of these sweet souls. The nurses and caregiving staff are held to high standards, which are evident in the superior care the residents receive. The residents stay busy with fun activities every day, thanks to the wonderful engagement staff. The food is top-notch and served restaurant style with new menus daily. As family members, we rely on the staff for compassion and care during the ups and downs of the dementia journey. The excellent care of our loved ones has continued despite the many challenges of 2020. Working in memory care is a calling, not just a job, and I am so grateful for the dedication of each member of The Grove family.
