I am a resident of Westminster Gardens. The staff is wonderful. They're very concerned about whatever is going on with you. They're willing to help you there, and they're just amazing. I have a one-bedroom, a living room, and a kitchen. They have been renovating for the last two years, and whatever is going on. If they're fixing an elevator, they send a group email telling us that the elevator is going to be down for such and such a time. So, they're really concerned about the condition of the building. Eldercare provides lunch, and you have to qualify. Some do, and some don't, and their food is OK. We have lots of activities. We have bingo twice a week, and then the first Saturday of the month, we have a potluck bingo tournament. We have bible study and worship twice a week, and special activities.

I am a resident of Westminster Gardens. I enjoyed it, and it's a nice place to live. I get one meal, but it's part of my plan and not free. The facility is clean. They took good care of the place. Now and then, they have activities, but mostly not. I don't do much with the activities. I've got an efficiency, and it's got a refrigerator, stove, and sink, but no countertop. It's a small place, and that's where I live.

Westminster Gardens was bright and sunny inside. The people were very nice. They have a lot of activities. It's a high-rise building, and it has gorgeous views of the Tallahassee skyline, but when they showed me the available rooms, all they had was a studio. There's no bedroom, and the whole studio is 223 feet. They have one-bedroom apartments, but there is a significant three- to four-year waiting list for them. If you can get a one-bedroom, I think you'd be doing very well, but those studio apartments at 200 square feet are just not sufficient for a grown person. I'd give the staff a 10. He answered all my questions. He pointed out things I wouldn't have noticed. You cook your own food. They've been doing a lot of renovation. It looks like they have a new air-conditioning system, and the interior has been recently painted. They had an exercise room and a great big room with a pool table in it.

Supposed to be a caring Christian place-it's not. Some staff is rude and condescending, admin acts like the Politboro. It's all about money.

I have been here over a year and have noticed that they have double standards some people can use the common rooms and others can't and there's mold and water all over the place I am trying to get out of the apartment that I am in so they will be able to remediate my room for mold again after only about 6 months. This is not to discourage anyone just presenting some facts.

WMG was Georgia Belle built for retired teachers in 1971. Westminster properties of Florida took over management two years ago. It is now leasing to low income residents many with medical conditions and alcohol problems. The no longer provide prepared meals, but Meals on Wheels does Monday- Friday. The new management seemingly places filling units over care and activities. We left after 8 years.

Westminster Gardens Apartments (WGA) is my home. I find it a safe, comfortable, affordable and convenient place to live. In the heart of Downtown Tallahassee, I am just minutes by walking or by car from my work, Publix grocery and a choice of pharmacies. Though I don't currently qualify for rental subsidies, they are available for lower income folks here at West Minster Gardens. WGA is located near several city parks and very accessible to the City Bus Transit System “Star Metro”. WGA is located near many banks and also the Downtown Saturday Market which hosts farmers, arts and crafts, and live free music every Saturday March through November just 5 blocks south. This is an independent living community for seniors over 62. The WGA staff is very helpful and maintenance is handled in a prompt and courteous manner. My choosing to live here was based on my investigations of available housing in Tallahassee. I rate this as the best choice I could have made. I'm very satisfied. Contact the Staff at Westminster Gardens and I'm sure you will be pleased

We are quite satisfied here at Westminster Gardens. It is not the same as having your own home, but we have met a lot of nice people here, and everybody seems relatively satisfied. The staff has a very good attitude, and they do the best they can do. It is a 12-story building. They have bingo and card games. They also have a bridge group and a pool table.
