"My mother has a friend from childhood; Eleanor is now 69 and has dementia/Alzheimer's (not sure yet), and has had to move into assisted living. At Mary's Haven, it is more like being at home than being in a "facility." Eleanor can continue to go out, and her location is practically downtown in our tiny burg. Eleanor gets what she needs with encouragement to continue her life as much as possible as before she moved in. Eleanor gets great care from familiar faces and we couldn't be happier. "

"Really enjoyed my volunteer time here the staff made me feel welcomed. i was able to participate in activities with the seniors such as bingo and karaoke. The center really likes to keep the seniors entertained their was even a knitting class. "

"My Dad lives at Camilla Gardens. He has multiple medical problems along with some dementia. When I visit I see the Administrator and DON rounding. I have never met one staff member in this facility who do not go out of their way to speak and help. The dietary staff are very nice too and dad looks forward to eating their good food. They have a lot of engaging activities for the elderly. The other patients are great. Dad is often at a table with others in activities. Singing, bingo, and church to mention a few. I even have pictures where he visited Santa and the Easter bunny.He has two roommates. Therapy and the social worker are awesome too."

"My dad moved into Southern Care after my mom passed away 3 years ago. At first he really wasn't sure how he would like it and wanted to stay at home alone in Florida. We new that he would not be safe at home alone and would not eat right or take his medicine like he should so we found Southern Care. It has been a true blessing to all of us. The food is excellent. I eat there with him every chance I get and he gets his meds on time every day. We had visiting several assisted livings in the Tifton and Sylvester areas and found Southern Care to be the best! "

"Grace Manor is an assisted living facility for the elderly and special needs of our area. It is an expensive but very nice assisted living facility with plenty of outdoor area to walk and enjoy The apartment rooms are not too large, but are very comfortable. I visited at least once a week over the two year period she lived there. The staff is very good and very organized. The only problem I had was they would always give in to whatever my grandmother wanted, mostly too much chocolate, which caused her to restless and hyper.Every week their would be a special covered dish supper and many of the residents did cook. I went once and enjoyed it. Their were several activities to do. Bingo once a month on a Saturday evening.I have been around several nursing homes and one other assisted living facility, but this one is the nicest one.It only took one month to get moved in and a couple of days to get all the paperwork done. I would certainly use them again and I wouldn't living there if it comes to that.Overall the facility had very nice workers and plenty of activities for the ones living there. Everyone living there was checked on casually and thoroughly.The grounds were always kept neat and clean every time I went.I would rate it a 4.5 out of of 5 points on the grading scale. "

"Pine Shadows Retirement Manor's care for my father is very good. They have a very caring staff. It's a very homey environment. They have a small number of residents. They have been very good. The place is very clean. We are pleased with it. Nobody is going to take care of your parents like you would, but they do a good job."

"The staff here is wonderful! They formed personal bonds with the Mama. They check on her often during the day to empty her catheter and see if she needs anything. Many of them know me by name and talk to me as I come and go. They dispense her meds and check her sugar levels several times a day. It's a beautiful facility, more like a nice motel. It's pricey, but they really care about the residents. I cannot say enough about the CFO and activities director and several of the staff that really love my Mama! She was in a wheelchair and on oxygen when she came last yr. Now she is off O2 and walking the halls several times a day! She has friends! She paints, plays bingo and cards, put together puzzles until her eyesight got worse, enjoys "butterbean auctions", outings around Tifton on the bus & sitting on the front porch in the padded rockers. My only ding is the food. It's not always good or cooked well, and we keep Glucerna in her fridge for those meals she can't eat. But they are in the process of replacing their previous cook due to a stroke, so we're in transition right now. Hoping for a quick replacement. Overall, it's a great place to be."

"This place is great. I have been here on many occasions. Its a nursing home and a retirement center combined. #1 The director of admissions (Kimberly) is by far the best person on the employee board. She makes you feel comfortable just by talking to her on the phone. Once you visit this place, it is quality care all around...from the staff to clients. Great place to go to. If you go to their website and look at the event calendar, you can see that this place is all about their clients. They even provide a church service. Wow! "

"My dad was at Fellowship Home at Valdosta GA. The facility is great, but we need to transfer him to a nursing home because he needs full time nursing care. The staff was great. "
