"I toured Century Pines Retirement Community. The atmosphere was very nice and pleasant and I liked what I saw. The staff were very welcoming. They welcomed me, and I enjoyed the visit. The rooms were nice and roomy. The room was a nice size for my uncle. As for amenities, they had a courtyard, and that's all I remember. It is an excellent place to place your family members. I like the cleanliness and the atmosphere. When I walked through the door, it was pleasant. The staff was also pleasant."

"The staff was very friendly at Viva Senior Living at Albany. It was very open and clean. I was given plenty of information. I got to see the grounds. I like that there was a staff member either coming out or interacting with a patient. So it was kind of like a home for those who didn't have a home to have someone watch over. They said they were going to have to evaluate my dad, but I looked at a studio and a living situation that if he needed more memory care, we could step over to that. The staff members were knowledgeable and friendly. They asked about my dad's mental capacity, and they asked emotional questions, too. They asked what medications he would need help with. They were very detailed."

"Oaks at Oakland Plantation had a homey atmosphere. I would highly recommend it. The apartment that my brother would have had was spacious and very conducive to his needs. They were very helpful. They answered my questions. They got me there on the tour. The staff introduced me to different people in different areas. Their cafeteria was a restaurant type. They can select whatever they want to eat. It's very nice. She introduced me to the physical therapist that they had onsite and to the person that would be in charge of their activities. It was very good. They had a baby grand piano for the residents to play. They had a theater room that was set up as if they were entering into one of those awards. There were nice seats, and it was really nice."

"I visited Savannah Court. I thought it would fit my father very well. I was very impressed. The people that I dealt with were very knowledgeable and very understanding. I thought they would have cared for my father in a loving way. The grounds were well kept and showed they cared about how the place looked. From what I saw, the dining area was neat, and I could tell that the people were well fed. It was a nice place with a family atmosphere. They had a lot of different things that the people could do to keep them active. "

"I went to Evergreen Assisted Living. When you come in, it's like coming into the living room of a house. It had furnishings that you would probably have in your own home that would be accommodating for patients as well as people coming to visit loved ones. It seemed very comfortable and welcoming. I interacted with two of the staff and they were very friendly. They had outside activities. They had tours. They could go to the library. It was very interesting because it seemed like they were letting people get a more normal activity than they would have if they were just in a nursing facility."

"Seymour Southern Comforts is a newer facility, probably 8 years old. This is owned by a single family. This is a home built on the side of the road. Much smaller, in a small country town, but assisted living and retirement center. 2 wings on each side with a big foyer in the middle. The rooms are probably a little better than average. Not as quite as elaborate as others. The dining area is very clean. They have church services and different artists from around the community come in and play. They have meetings, health talks, and bingo and all that. "
