I am staying in Hickory Heights Health & Rehab. I've come here for rehab several times before when I've been in the hospital. I like the people here. I'm in their nursing home now, and they have good patient care. The staff is all considerate, too. Some days the food is good, some days it's bad; it just depends. Every day we have things to do. We have bingo and we play cards. We have a hairdressing class, where we get our hair and nails done. We also have a big backyard area, where we can go out any time we want to. They keep the facility well-cleaned. Someone comes in here every day to do the cleaning. I think it's a little expensive, but all of them are.

My mother is in Hickory Heights Health & Rehab. She's there for rehab and she's going to be there long term, but we decided not to. There were too many problems. This is the second time she's been there. She was there for 100 days the first time and it was better. They've got a lot of turnovers. She's in a shared room and she's not going to activities. When she wanted to get one, they just left her out there and she was hollering for help to go back to the room. One of them told her that she wasn't her patient, so she couldn't help her.

If the patient can't help themselves, or has dementia, they are not cared for properly. If they can't feed themselves, the plate is put in front of them. My brother can't feed himself and I was told by a staff he hadn't eaten in two weeks. He looks like he weight 80 pounds. Please, I advise anybody not to put their love ones in this facility. E. Watch out for the food they over salt everything, and if not salt it is spice to the point it is inedible, I am on a salt restricted diet and yet my food was so salty I could not eat it or so spicy was to hot to eat so I started having it delivered from outside, one time they delivered spoiled milk to the entire wing and may have been the whole facility, I was on the 200 hall for Rehab and for the most part they were beyond great, they knew the food problem but could do nothing, as for as nursing the only problem was the graveyard it was like they were just phoning it in and they might have become they spent the whole night on the phone lol, Great place just stay in touch and watch them, you and your love one need the help at this time

My relative is receiving the care he requires. The staff is respectful and courteous to my relative and family. The rooms are nice. My family member doesn’t care to participate in activities. However, activities are provided to strengthen one’s physical and cognitive skills. I am no aware of the amenities offered. Whatever they are my family member is satisfied with what’s available.

I would not advise for anyone to place their loved one in these people care i have a family memeber who has been neglected and ignored due to poor staffing. Family memeber could have died under their care luckily thats not the case we got our family member out in the nick of time!

Family member placed there by Medicare for the 20 paid coverage. A big mistake. Family member somehow fell and got a big gash above left eye. No call made to advise. Meals are not good. It would appear care for residents is very lacking. Family member was discharged before ready to be discharged. Would advise to not put a loved one at Hickory..

When mom first moved here, she was on the 200 hallway because she was doing rehab. Those folks were wonderful. Then she got moved to the long term care area and things headed downhill. Ignored call buttons and emergency cords, not following plan of care in regards to bed and chair alarms, missing items - shoes, clothes, eyeglasses. This in spite of the facf that every item was labelled with her name and room number. We had numerous staff meetings and nothing ever changed. She was there almost a year before we moved her. You don't want to do that to a person with dementia but we had no choice as the care was beginning to border on neglect.

Hickory Heights is a really nice place, fairly modern, and clean. Most of the staff is really compassionate and good. The food is great, but the rooms are a little bit tight. They don’t have single rooms; you have a roommate. Other than that, it’s fine. They have a very good activity director. They have bible study classes and musical programs that come in for the residents.

We really liked Hickory Heights (Chenal Heights Nursing and Rehab). The lady that took us on tour of the facility was informative and nice. Everything was nice and clean. It didn't smell there. They were in the process of remodeling some of their wings. But my father-in-law decided he didn't want to go after all. The staff was very helpful and showed us the rooms, the dining room, and the common area.
