"This is the agency that has been able to make things work for me and my mother when other outfits had given up or were unwilling to try. I'm out of state, and Mom can be a difficult client. Home Instead gives their care workers (who are their employees, rather than counting as independent contractors) a foundation of strong, consistent training. This allowed some of them to become accepted by Mom to a wonderful degree, and thus has made it possible for her to keep living in her own home after a hospitalization and nursing home stay last year. "My mother is using Help at Home Scranton. They help with bathing, light house cleaning, and cooking. They make sure to remind her to take her medicine. They're helping her in bed, helping her get out of the bed in the morning, and socializing. She gets a lot of help with her meals being prepared. The caregiver is friendly, caring, respectful, and compassionate. I feel very satisfied."

"The one I used was Comfort Keepers. I am employed, so I am away from home for almost 12 hours, and my mother had surgery, so I needed someone who could come and take care of her physical needs during the day. I contacted this agency, and they came. They would come two hours in the morning, and then before they leave, they would cook for my mother and keep the food next to her bedside, then come back in the evening and clean her up and do whatever the needs are for the evening. They have very good staff who took very good care of my mother -- very personal care -- and I adored them. They treated her like their own mom. Four of them were working, so they would take turns and come. It wasn't the same person coming, and all four of them really treated my mom so well, like, giving her shower, talking to her, massaging her feet, and stuff like that. I was very impressed. Their work ethics were excellent, especially the one name Donna. All of them were good. Everything was perfect and was done very professionally. "

"We got Kindred Home for my brother-in-law. He gets physical therapy, occupational therapy, and the nurse comes. They don't have aides to come in and fill the hours we need. I think one of the things that they'll have to work on is to see to it that every workers should have their CNA. "We got Independent Life Home Care & Concierge Solutions for my brother-in-law. They're okay, we've been using them a few years. Before he was only allowed two hours a day, so they would come in and make his supper, maybe do some light housekeeping. But now that he needs more care, they gave him ten hours a day, seven days a week. The caregivers are good, I don't have any problems with them, it's just the agency doesn't have many caregivers, and they're short-staffed a lot."
