"The tour I had at Elan Gardens was done very well. The exterior of the place was extraordinary, and its amenities were excellent. The room size was very adequate, and the closet was great. We looked at a studio and a 1-bedroom apartment. The 1-bedroom was a little nicer. But either room would work for my mom. They have a 42-room capacity, and 39 of them were occupied, which is a good thing. The activities were excellent. Their staffing was excellent. The dining rooms were very nice. The thing I was most impressed with was the tablecloth and flowers on each table. The cost was very good because it was all-inclusive. What we liked about it was that they can serve breakfast in the resident's room. The only thing I would not rate a 5 out of everything was the room size because it was a little smaller than what we had envisioned. But because of the closet, it was more than adequate."

"My mom absolutely loves it at The Pines. She's been there a month and she's very happy. We made a good choice. They recently took her to the park, a concert, and to mass. She has a button and all she has to do is push it and they take her to the dining room. The staff is very accommodating. They have patios and she likes to go out there. Someone usually goes out and talks to her. They have free telephones, TV, and transportation."

"The Gardens of Green Ridge seemed very nice and very clean. The people were courteous and seemed to have a lot of activities and daily food schedules. Everything seemed to be very well-prepared. They had a list of activities that kept the residents very busy. The apartments were clean and enough to provide a comfortable living for someone."

"My father moved into Mid Valley Manor. I like that the staff is very pleasant and very accommodating. Anytime I have questions, they answer them. They're very good. They serve three meals a day. They also have entertainment, shopping, Bingo, and music. When you walk in the door it is very clean, but the bathroom in my father's room is not clean."

"I toured the Celebration Villa of Mid Valley. It's a memory care facility and all the exit doors were electronically controlled so that the staff didn't have to worry about anybody wandering out. Everything was very clean. I like that it was on one level. All the floors were done with laminate type of wood-type material, which made them very clean and safe. There weren't any bumps or anything on the floor. There are a lot of things that go into these facilities that you don't even think about, but this facility was safe, organized, and staffed properly. Everybody was like a family. It was awesome. Their facility was exceptional and the care for the patients and the food they had was specially designed for each person's needs. The director of the facility was awesome. I was a little bit late in getting there, about 15 minutes late because I had trouble finding the place, but she took it upon herself to give me a tour personally. I felt very good about the visit. She was wonderful. She's called me back probably 5 or 6 times. She's been persistent in communicating and everything, more so than the others. She took me through the pantry and the dining facility and showed me how everything was set up. I was impressed."

"I visited Serenity Care Kingston. The young lady who took us on the tour and is in charge was so nice and helpful. It was a really pleasant experience. We saw what the rooms were. We were happy with what we saw. The people seemed to be having a fun time. There were a bunch of people in the lobby area. She took us to the dining room and showed us that, and we were just impressed with it because we had never been to any facilities like that, so we really didn't know what to expect. There was a beauty shop. She did say there was a barber who comes. They had a laundry room. They would do their laundry. The meals were supplied. They had all kinds of activities. The dining room was sort of like a restaurant atmosphere. It was nice, the lighting was fine, and the tables were separated enough that if you had a wheelchair or a walker or whatever, there would be room for you to get in, but then they were close enough that you didn't feel like you were way far away from people. The facility was very nice. I was impressed with the rooms."
