Elan Gardens

I visited a family member at Elan Gardens. It seemed excellent. She mentioned the food was okay. But as far as the facility itself and the room and everything, it seemed very, very pleasant. The staff seemed very attentive. I saw the area where they eat and the outside area, and they're very pleasant, too. They had different kinds of rooms, and my family member had plenty of space. I was impressed with them.

I went to Elan Gardens. We had narrowed it down to two different places and Elan Gardens was more than happy to work with us. Like any time we sat down with them and we said, OK my dad can't afford this or my dad is trying for this, they were just very upfront. And if they could help, then they did graciously with no problems at all. It's a Jewish home and my dad is Catholic, but he could do whatever he wanted within his apartment. There was no question there. Inside his apartment it's his, that's his domain. Everybody was just so gracious and kind. He would have gotten a newly renovated room so it would have been new. My dad was in the hospital when I went to Elan Gardens. We figured out that he was going to need to go to a rehab center before he took possession of a place in Elan Gardens. Elan Gardens told us that they also have a sister program, which is Elan Skilled Nursing, and the paperwork between the two of them, between Elan Gardens and Elan Skilled Nursing, was extremely easy to get him transferred from one place to the other place. So, we jumped on that. My father was very excited. He was ready to move. And we were very, very comfortable with the way the people treated us and the way the staff there treated us.

The tour I had at Elan Gardens was done very well. The exterior of the place was extraordinary, and its amenities were excellent. The room size was very adequate, and the closet was great. We looked at a studio and a 1-bedroom apartment. The 1-bedroom was a little nicer. But either room would work for my mom. They have a 42-room capacity, and 39 of them were occupied, which is a good thing. The activities were excellent. Their staffing was excellent. The dining rooms were very nice. The thing I was most impressed with was the tablecloth and flowers on each table. The cost was very good because it was all-inclusive. What we liked about it was that they can serve breakfast in the resident's room. The only thing I would not rate a 5 out of everything was the room size because it was a little smaller than what we had envisioned. But because of the closet, it was more than adequate.

I visited Elan Gardens. It was very nice and very accommodating. It had a very nice facility for Alzheimer's patients. They had their room with a sitting room looking out over the countryside. The people were very friendly and very accommodating. They explained everything to me.

I got a very good vibe at Elan Gardens. They knew their residents and they seemed to care about them. It's a small facility, but overall, I think they were excellent for what they do with the residents. The rooms were decent. The one-bedroom had enough space to feel comfortable, and they were nice. If you want to pay more, they have even nicer rooms too. I was happy with it. They had a lot of amenities, and they did activities with them, like taking them out on trips. I didn't really see any of it, but they seem to offer a lot. It just looked a little older. It needs a little fresh paint to make it look a little more like a home, but other than that it was good.

My mother has been placed at Elan Gardens since October and I am absolutely thrilled with her place. I's beautiful, it's immaculate. The care that they provide the residents is topnotch. They have 24/hr staff. We couldn’t be happier with her placement in that facility.
