My mom is using the Comfort Keepers. Robin is the girl that comes in once a week for me for a couple hours. She's excellent. I love her, she's wonderful. I don't know what I would do without her. I can't say enough good stuff about Robin. She's become a very good friend through this whole thing. She's been with me for a year or so. She knows the family and my friends and stuff. She tries to work with my mom on her memory. She gets her up, walks around, she changes her in the bathroom. She's very, very good. The billing is all done electronically. The only time I talk to them is when I want to schedule more hours, or if I need to change hours. I haven't had any problems with them. They've been very accommodating.

Comfort Keepers Doesn’t Live Up To Its Name It is difficult to express the level of frustration, disappointment, and angst Comfort Keepers has caused me. What I needed and requested was someone to stay with my loved one, as well as help cleaning the apartment. I thought the cost was high, but agreed because not only would they be there for my loved one, who sleeps all the time, but would also be helping me with cleaning. I expected with a “reputable” company I would be getting quality care and service, which is exactly what was in the contract I signed. I was told that the same aide would be assigned, so the patient and aide would be here consistently for them to become familiar and comfortable with each other. However, of the seven times they came, five different aides were sent. Three of the times the aides came, they were 15 to 30 minutes late, which didn’t start things off on the right foot. I pointed out what needed to be done, in terms of cleaning and caregiving. When I returned I could tell the aide did only superficial cleaning, and did not do all the things I asked them to do. Each aide seemed to have their own idea of what should be done when it came to the services rendered. Cleaning was not constantly done, and when it was done, it was not done well. When I mentioned the required services to one of the aides, she said they were not a cleaning service and only provide personal care. However, the plan of care specifically listed all the house cleaning that was to be done. I attempted to contact the initial person who worked with me to explain their services and develop the plan of care. It took 3 days and 3 calls before I was able to get in touch with her. I was reassured that everything would be addressed, and I asked for a copy of the contract showing that cleaning was part of the agreed upon terms. It seems this wasn’t addressed with the aides as I was told would be done, because I continued to have the same issues. An aide supervisor called me and lectured me on my expectation being outside the scope of the services they provide. I pointed out that was not what was agreed upon in the contract and even showed them the terms. When aides agreed to do cleaning, it was obvious they did not clean well. One day I cleaned after the aide had left and had two dusters full of dust from areas she said she cleaned and a vacuum cleaner full of dirt when I vacuumed. The aide lied to my face saying she did everything I requested. As soon as I could, I terminated the contract with the required two weeks’ notice, so I could wash my hands of the terrible service provided, or lack thereof. I would absolutely never recommend Comfort Keepers to anyone, and in fact would suggest they look elsewhere if they want quality services. If it were possible I would give zero stars, but you have to at least give a star, but that is generous.

If you are reading this review I assume you are looking for assistance for a loved one. That being said I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE you from using Comfort Keepers of Fort Myers. My father in law is 93 years old and suffers from early on set dimentia. We were looking for an agency that would help us in the mornings. We needed someone to come each morning, get him up from bed, assist him in getting to the bathroom, change his night diaper and feed him. My husband and I trusted that the employees from Comfort Keepers would care for him as they would their own loved one. He only eats breakfast and dinner so it is crucial that he eats both meals. Instead they didn’t feed him for the 3 days!!! On the third day, he was so weak he fell. We found him on the floor of his apartment in pain, bruised from head to toe and unable to get up. As you can imagine we were extremely upset. No one at Comfort Keepers seemed to care regardless of the numerous people we spoke with at the agency. Dawn, the general manager didn’t even call us until the following day. The night staff is on call for emergencies, I would certainly think this was an emergency! Their was no ownership of their lack of care and nothing was put in place to prevent it from happening again. Since they were continuing to give us different caretakers each day, which is really difficult for someone with dementia, I wrote up instructions to help the caretaker to know how to best help our father. Yet employees continued to come out and neglect him. One left him on the couch, put his breakfast on the table, and moved his walker across the room. When I arrived later that day, my father in law asked me to help him because he was “stuck”. He couldn’t get to the table to eat or back to his bed because the couch was too low and he couldn’t reach his walker. As each incident happened we communicated with the office and nothing changed. The last straw was when I went during the scheduled time and the caretaker was laying on the couch appearing to be napping while my father was lying in his bed in his own urine because he had an accident and had no diaper on. She stated that he was napping. She had not gotten him up to clean him up nor feed him. When I asked her if she read the notes I left, she said she didn’t see them. Comfort Keepers assured me that they communicated with all of their employees about each of their clients and would put in their notes that instructions would be on the counter. When I asked her if she read the notes from Comfort Keepers about him she stated there were none. The whole situation makes me so sad. How can a company claim that they care so much but yet do so little for their clients that depend on them? Comfort Keepers Fort Myers is there to collect a paycheck. My father is a veteran and the VA are the ones that referred them to us. Shame on you Comfort Keepers of Fort Myers for treating the veterans of this country like they are insignificant and not worth your time.

Comfort Keepers come in in the morning and get my dad dressed, clean him up, bathe him, feed him breakfast, and do the dishes. We're going to hire them to come in and cook dinner as well. They do light housekeeping, although it's hit or miss, but they do everything. You ask them to do it and they will do it. I like the caregivers that I've met. The only thing is they have a little bit of turnover rate, which I don't like, because new people come in and out. It is a little confusing for elderly people, but they bend over backwards to accommodate me, even if I call at the last minute. They will have somebody out there within an hour. They're pretty darn good.

The caregivers from Comfort Keepers Home Care Fort Myers were really good. There were some lapses in the communication with the administration that didn't make me happy, but we got through it. They only came in from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. They helped move my dad and changed him. We chose this agency because we got a good recommendation from the hospital.

We got Comfort Keepers Home Care for my wife. I'm using them a couple of days a week. They come for a minimum of four hours and I've had four different people since then, but I was assured that the same person would come. They're doing cooking, cleaning, and shopping. Scheduling has been fine, and the cost is on the upside, but it's reasonable.
