My wife Nancy is deceased but we used Acuity Homecare for her for six weeks. They were great, the people that run it were excellent, and the girls that came here were absolutely wonderful. They're professional, enjoyable, very nice, and they know what they're doing. They even gave us a Christmas card at Christmas time, too. I don't say anything bad about them. To other families who may want to consider them, I would tell them to not have any reservations about having them, and to consider them very much. I had worked in nursing homes, and I had seen the kind of care you get there, and this is far and above any nursing home care.

My grandmother has been using Acuity Homecare since September. It has been a super positive experience. The caregivers help her basically with activities of daily living like bathing, mobility and making sure she takes her medication. They are pretty much doing a wide range of things for her. For the most part, we have had one steady caregiver and then just two for a week here and there when a caregiver has taken time off. It's been excellent. My grandmother has been very happy with her caregiver.

Acuity Homecare was very good. The healthcare provider was extremely kind and helpful to my mother. She did a very good job. I used them for three months. My mother passed away on December 25th, Christmas morning. My mother was very comfortable with the caregiver. They did all the feeding. My mother couldn't get out of bed by herself at the end, so the caregiver was putting her on commode and bathing her with assistance from the hospice nurse that came in once in a while. Most of the time, they would bathe her like a sponge bath in the bed. The caregiver would feed her and make sure she took her pills. We would fill all the pills into the pill box and the medications. We would give out all the medication dosages and the caregiver would just make sure that my mother took all the pills at the time, morning, evening and afternoon pills. She did the housecleaning, she did the laundry, she would clean the dishes, and she would make meals. She did everything. They were very easy to work with. The office was good. They responded in time for everything. There was no problem. Billing was convenient. It was done online.

We have been using Acuity Home Care since March, 2020. What a stress reliever it has been! The owners are helpful and kind and helped make a smooth transition from our previous care giver to Acuity. Our caregiver is a happy, caring person and has developed a nice relationship with my dad, which is a tricky thing. My dad is bed–bound, was pretty much non-verbal and would get angry at other care givers. What a difference in him since starting with Acuity! He began to smile and even talk more and would give a ‘thumbs up’ to the caregiver. The atmosphere of the house also changed – it became a happy place to come to which was a definite stress reliever for me! Our caregiver works 24/7 which is nice because my dad has been able to develop a relationship with her. She recently went on a vacation and it was a seamless transition and the interim caregiver didn’t miss a beat. She was kind to my dad and very welcoming to us. This shows me that Aisha and Odell go above and beyond hiring and training their staff. My dad is in Hospice and the nurses and others hospice workers have noticed the positive change in my dad. As his health is declining, I told Aisha one day, that our care giver is a ‘God send’, who has brought some lightness into my dad’s home and is making these final days the best they can be. I highly recommend this agency and give a big ‘thank you’ to Aisha, Odell and their staff!

We used Acuity Homecare for my father. They provided CNA overnight. My dad has since passed, but what we did because of the COVID situation, we ended up with the same caretakers for him. They just alternated for the week and it worked out very well. It wasn't just companionship; it was more care. Also he was bedridden so that they would have to bathe him and change his dressing. That's why we opted for the certified nursing aide as opposed to just companionship. I was absolutely comfortable with them. The CNAs that we had were great and they were wonderful. They answered our questions, and they were always on call whenever we had a problem. I felt very comfortable going to them either shooting them a text or giving them a phone call if I was concerned about something. I couldn't praise them enough for helping us out because it was all new to us, too. They really helped us out a lot.

We used Acuity Homecare for a week and a half when my mom came home on hospice. They were phenomenal. The owners were on the ball, so kind and efficient. I really like the fact that both of them are nurses and that brings a whole another level to it. One day we were out of mouth swabs for my mom and one of the owners drove them to my mother's house. They went the extra mile. Every caregiver that came out was kind, empathetic, and professional. They're just overall amazing. We brought my mom home on hospice knowing that she was going to pass away so we needed the extra help, which is why we hired them on. They were there when she passed.

Our experience with Acuity Homecare was good. They were for my wife. They were excellent as far as I'm concerned. They supplied an aide at daytime. It was mostly companionship. My wife was comfortable with them. They provided excellent care.

Acuity Homecare worked out fine. It was just very short-term, but it was good. They were very quick to respond. They provide my father with personal care. We're very comfortable with the caregivers. They were very responsive to our needs. They were very respectful, too.

We have been using Acuity Homecare for 6 months now for my father. In terms of the care plan, the caregiver would do a lot more if he would let her but he is a little reluctant. Basically, she keeps him company so my husband has some free time. It would be nice if my father would let her help him with the shower, but he would rather struggle through that on his own. I only met two of the caregivers and I find them lovely. They're very professional and supportive of their employees and the plan of care. They're hands-on, they know their patients, and they know the care. Communication is excellent.

We have been using Acuity Homecare since March. They provide 24 hour care for my dad because he is bed bound. They help with feeding, with housekeeping and with washing clothes. They're absolutely wonderful. We have one caregiver and she is delightful. I have had a number of them at least for the past 5 years and this girl is by far the best I have ever had. She is happy, she is helpful, and she is wonderful with my father. I can't say enough about her. The whole experience has been the best. I can't tell you the stress that's taken off of me; I can't say enough good things about them.

We have been using Acuity Homecare for a few months now. They provide companionship for my mother. They assist her with meals, they do some light laundry, and they help her go to the bathroom. The caregivers are excellent so far. The one they have on Sunday is very good. I haven't heard anything negative from anyone else. Billing and scheduling is fine. It is easy to go online and pay. It has been a very good overall experience.

We used Acuity Homecare for three months. We would have used them longer but my mother ended up in the hospital and now she is in nursing care. They were excellent and outstanding. We were so pleased. They sent very personable and competent aides when we needed them. We were extremely pleased. We have been in contact with the aide subsequent to my mother going to nursing care to send our appreciation for her services. They're extremely professional, capable and cooperative in providing the most caring services for my family.

We have been using Acuity Homecare for a couple of months now. My mother has the same caregiver and she is great. They get along great. They came highly recommended. We set everything up and I have no problems with them whatsoever. Everything runs smoothly. Like one day, my mother was sick, so she sent Wendy home, but they didn't charge me for it. They seem like a very good organization, and they seem to really care about the patients. If the aide notices some changes, they call me and update me on any changes that they notice, which I appreciate because I'm not there every day to see her.

We used Acuity Homecare from April through January. They were relatively easy to get a schedule from, but it was a little difficult to find out who was actually coming. My father-in-law is deaf, so we tried to keep the same people. It was difficult but it all worked out great. They did overnight care. The caregivers were all very nice and pretty attentive to him.

Our experience with Acuity Homecare was good. They were very accommodating and very nice to my mother-in-law. They did a great job and I would recommend them to anybody. They're phenomenal. We used them for two months. The CNAs came in overnight. They worked very well with the hospice nurse from a different agency. It was a good choice. My mother-in-law was not a very easy patient, but they knew how to handle her, so she had a good experience, too.

Acuity Homecare was very professional. They seemed to have their act together. They actually did what they said they would do. For me, it was such a good experience that restored my faith that there are some good healthcare agencies out there. My mom passed away but they were there right up to the end, so that was really good.

Acuity Homecare was fantastic. They swooped in when we were having the worst time with the agency we had. They came in and they took over. They were helping my aunt with everything because she needed 24-hour care. They provided someone to take care of her until she passed away. They were nice people. Billing and scheduling were fine. Everything was done online as far as billing. They let me know who was coming and when. There was not a lapse of time anywhere; they took care of everything. They're very compassionate and very knowledgeable. The owner's background was hospice so he knew when people were not taking the right course with my aunt. He stepped in and guided them the right way to help her. His wife called me every single day just to check in with me, how I was and how my aunt was. I can't say enough about them. I wished we had them from the beginning. These people were wonderful. They gave us the same people and there was the consistency and the compassion from them. They were just the best.

Acuity Homecare took care of my aunt. My aunt was very particular, but they seemed to meet her needs. She was comfortable with them as she would be with anyone. Their billing was great; their scheduling was great. The guy who was the main scheduler was fabulous. He was very easy to work with. He came and visited with my aunt. They went above and beyond the call of duty.

We are using Acuity Homecare for six months now. They take good care of my dad, who is 94 years old. My dad is alone in the house, so they do everything for him. He is very happy with them. Billing and scheduling is fine, too. There are no problems at all. Acuity Homecare is very highly recommended.

I had a positive experience with Acuity Homecare. I had absolutely no complaints. They took really good care of my mom. I was happy with them. Mom was with them for a month-and-a-half, but I wished I started it sooner. My mom had dementia, so she wasn't really doing very well. We brought Acuity Homecare in and she seemed to have bounced back because they were doing things with her. They were taking her outside, they were taking her to activities, and they were playing music for her, but then, a month and a half later, she passed. The caregivers were awesome. They have an app where the workers would upload information onto that app. If my mom is outside, they take a picture of her outside, or if she is in an activity, they take a picture of her doing activities. They also would leave me little notes like out of bed to the chair, brushed her teeth, and gave her a bath, so I know exactly what is happening with her even though I wasn't with her. I absolutely love it. It was wonderful. It was really a great help for me.

Our experience with Acuity Homecare was very good. They basically did overnight care for my dad. My sister did 9 am to 3 pm, I did 3 pm to 9 pm and they did 9 pm to 9 am. The caregivers were very compassionate, thoughtful, and respectful. I didn't have any issues with billing and scheduling at all. We used them for about two weeks. They're very receptive and compassionate. They were very attentive to my dad's needs and to our needs as well during the time that they were with my dad.

My mother-in-law was on service with Acuity Homecare. They fed her, they washed her up, and they got her out of bed. My mother-in-law was not responsive and she couldn't interact with anybody, but it definitely seemed like she was more comfortable having the care. The caregivers were very nice and very friendly. The company has an app that you can go on and you can see the notes. They took lots of pictures of my mother-in-law doing things. I would definitely try to let the people know that the company has a background helping people. The individuals who own the company are very caring. You actually get to meet them. These people are very caring, they know what they're doing, and they take a lot of personal attention to details.

My experience with Acuity Homecare is superb. This is definitely a unique experience and a great agency. They're caring for my father during the day; he has dementia. Patience is incredible. They provide activities to keep him engaged, they do housekeeping around the house, and they feed him. They're doing a great job. It has been about four months now since we hired them. The caregivers are very good. One of the owners is just wonderful to work with. I am very pleased with them.

About Acuity Homecare LLC in Shelton, Connecticut
Acuity Homecare was founded from a desire to improve upon our own personal experiences in healthcare. Throughout our 20-plus years of combined nursing practice my wife and I recognized that most of our patients had one thing in common. That is, despite being cared for by highly trained professionals within a hospital, skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation center, they maintained a strong desire to recover at home. The comfort, familiarity and assurance felt in their own home along with easy accessibility to their support network of friends and family allowed for a safer, faster recovery.
At Acuity Homecare we have dedicated ourselves to ensuring every one of our clients are treated like real people. We provide compassion, respect, professionalism and good old-fashioned excellent customer service. We visit our clients and caregivers in person routinely to ensure satisfaction with our service along with in home supervision to our caregivers. Does your agency organize and host events and outings for you or your loved one? Well, Acuity Homecare does. Our caregivers do not just sit at the bedside on their personal phones while you or your loved one sit quietly in their own thoughts. We are a socially interactive agency that engage and interact with our clients in a way that other agencies do not. Our events planner organizes picnics, movie nights, concerts, or nature walks to name a few for all of our clients (weather and client functional limitations considered).Help seniors by writing a review
