Highlands at Wildwood Lake Apartments was very nice. Very nice facilities and a lot of activities. We did not try their food. Their rooms were beautiful. The library was beautiful. They were on a little pond, and lake and had areas to hiking trails. They were paved and my husband would have been able to ride his scooter so that was a bonus for us. Very nice, very friendly staff. We looked at their menu, and it looked good.

The one I visited today is called Highlands at Wildwood Lake. I love the apartment. Their smallest one-bedroom apartment was quite roomy, and I liked that part. The one who showed me around was exceptional and informative as well. It was very nice. They had a lot of different activities and things to do. Close to this small lake, there is their own private walking path. I don't know how far it goes, but that caught my attention. I don't like to walk out in the streets, and I would rather walk in the woods and things like that, so that interests me. They don't have food. It's independent. Electricity and heat are not included in the rent either. I toured the one-bedroom room that I requested because it was empty now. There's a nice little kitchenette and a nice place to put the dining room table.

We found the Highlands at Wildwood Lake. We will be moving there, and we signed the lease two weeks ago. The apartment was large. It was bright and the elevator was easy -- my husband's disabled, so it was easy for us to get in and out, and the underground parking was a plus. The property manager was really friendly and helpful and took into account my husband's disability when we took the tour. So it was good. Good experience. I was not able to see everything because I got tired on the tour. So I know that the fitness room is going to be redone this summer. I didn't get to see one of the great rooms, the common rooms. They have a courtyard. It's very clean. A lot of things were in the stage of being remodeled. They are putting in new carpet in the hallways and changing out the furniture in the lobby area, and so it was very good.

We visited Clement Manor and only saw the independent living facility, even though this is a continuum of care community. The residents that we saw were very pleased with their care. We thought that the lounge was dark and very small, we thought that the apartment was just a turnoff, and so we didnt think that it was a bargain. This is a Roman Catholic community sponsored by the school system of Saint Francis, so there are regular masses there. A couple times a month they have Protestant services. They have different ways you can go in. You can go in and pay (which is about market price, or you can go in at a five-year plan and lay out some money, which probably reduces your rent. The person we talked to wasn't sure what the five-year plan did and said she'd get back to me. Sure enough, I had it the next day, but we told her that we wouldn't be coming back because there was no dishwasher and no washer and dryer. She still invited us back to a meal, and we were very impressed with her.

I like Wildwood Lake better than the one we’re going to because it was all self-contained. Wildwood Lake was getting ready to have their Christmas party when I visited there. It is just in one building.
