My aunt has lived there for some time and we have always been satisfied with her care, but since the new manager came on board, the difference has been noticeable. Meals are really good, and the staff seem more motivated. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and you can tell the new manager really cares about her job and the people who live there. Highly recommend.

I visited Black Hawk Senior Living for my mother. I personally like it. I thought it had a very homey atmosphere, like it wasn't so sterile looking and had more warmth. The facility used to be a formal hotel, so it had a very nice dining room. Not all of the rooms were small, but the one that was available was quite small -- adequate but small. The bad part is that the location is right downtown. Also, they need to have better communication. When you're looking for a room for your parents, talking about the financial aspects of the tenants there should be done in a private office, not for everybody to hear everything. I didn't care for that at all. The staff was pleasant, though.
