Mom is at Yitref Adult Family Home. I love the staff. They're very friendly and caring. They've worked with us with our financial situation. For what I'm looking for, it's kind of exactly what we wanted. It doesn't feel like a facility. It feels like a home. My brother and I both really liked it a lot. It didn't take us very long to decide this is where we wanted Mom to be. The staff is great. They seem to care for the residents. There's like five people in total living there besides my mom and they all seem to really like it there, too. The food's great. They make it every day. There's like fresh fruit and everything with all their meals, so that's what I love about the place. My mom gets tomato soup and fruit with every meal. My mom's diabetic, so they're good about being mindful of her eating restrictions. It's a nice home and it seems to be really well kept. They have palm trees, which I think are interesting there, and banana leaves. It's so tidy. Most of the people who live there can't really walk or anything. They're pretty limited in what they can. She has a TV in her room if she wants to use it, but there's also a community space that she can use to kind of be by others. It's not made for people who have much mobility. The people who run the place worked with me and my family with our finances, which was really nice, because that wasn't the case with every place we looked at as far as if they're willing to work with us while we're trying to get my mom's financing sorted for Medicaid.
