At the moment, my mother is still in Sharon Care Center. She has now been moved into a room with a second person. The problem that we're having is she's not using the toilet at all. She has to be lifted in and out of bed with the Hoyer and put into her electric wheelchair. Then she can get on about her day, but she's not changing herself or anything. It is a place that we had looked at before, and it's close to my brother who is in Centralia. We had originally got a room for her there. She was going to be living in assisted living upstairs, but she ended up with a kidney infection and had to go to the hospital. She was in there for a while. When she got out, she wasn't able to stand or anything. She just wasn't doing anything. She's been in therapy for the last hundred days, but she hasn't gotten to the point where she can live on her own. She can't afford to stay there when her insurance runs out. She makes about $8,000 a month, but it's about $300 and something dollars a day, which puts her at like over $9,000 a month. We have to find somewhere for her that we can afford. It's a great place. The people there are wonderful. It's just my mom hasn't met their requirements to stay. She has to be physically able to stand, pivot, and transfer herself. She's not doing any of that. She was in therapy at the nursing home. They have assisted living upstairs, but now she's at the point where she can't even be in assisted living because she's wearing a diaper. She is not trying to transfer to the toilet or anything. She is just content with having somebody take care of her, so it's frustrating. They've been really patient with her. She is thrilled with the food. She loves it. They have games, bingo, and crafts. She goes down to their activity room. She plays card games and different games with other people down there. There are lots of things for her to do. She is rarely in her room. They have a pop machine outside that she goes to and gets her own pop. They have therapy there. They are pretty set up. There was one thing that we were upset about. On Halloween, they had probably over 200 kids come through that nursing home trick or treating. They brought school buses full of kids. I understand why they did it. They did it so the people to see all these little kids, but a nursing home is not the best place to take them. Kids are full of bacteria. I think that was a really bad idea of them parading over 200 kids through the nursing home right after COVID just happened. That was the only negative thing I had to say about them. I'm not worried about getting sick, but those people are really frail. I just don't think that was the best idea to have little kids go parading through there, although my mom loved it. She had a great time.

I've been here at Sharon Care Center for almost a year now and it's acceptable, that's as far as it goes. Everybody complains about the food but that's nothing new. The staff is very good. I have a studio, but there are also 1-bedroom apartments available. Everything works fine, and when something breaks they come around and fix it. The staff members know what to do so I don't have any complaints. Their dining area is okay, and when it comes to the food, I'm not fond of their pizza, but breakfast is the best. You can order whatever you want for breakfast from a menu. They have a courtyard in the center of the building. It's in a residential area so you can go out for a walk on the sidewalks. They have a bus and there's an activities director who will take you on outings and shopping, or to the casino if you want to go there. In terms of value for the money, it costs $4000 a month.

I was at Sharon Care Center for 30 days. It was actually okay but it was too expensive for me and I don't make that kind of money. They were all good to me and they took care of me when I needed help. They had a lot of people staying there. They provide meals and they do other things for you, so it was alright. The location was very good and the food was pretty good, too.

The nursing staff is top notch. The administration has an ego complex. They treat there residents and nursing staff with no respect. Got a new administrator from another state that has an ego complex. Very short with residents and nursing staff. Dinning area roomy as well as rooms. Much older building well taken care of and very clean. Seem to have quite a turn over of staffing, nurses. All staffing and nurses are very helpful and know and do there jobs very well. Offer very good care despite the Administrator ego getting hurt easily.

Sharon Care was an older facility, that immediately reminds you more of a hospital than a care facility. The rooms weren't too appealing, and the cost was about the same as other places. In the memory care unit, the rooms were a studio, and if you had a roommate, it was just separated by a curtain. It wasn't divided well. The residents were fine. The dining area looked fine. It was a more sterile, clinical place, but the staff was very nice.

Sharon Care seemed nice. It was clean. The rooms were probably acceptable given the circumstance or situation. They were clean and well kept. They seemed to have stuff that my grandmother wasn't interested in because she was not able to do anything, but they had crafts, puzzles, group room, pretty much the typical stuff. The one who gave us a tour was a young man, and he was perfectly pleasant, informative, very kind, and very nice. However, it was a little older, and their furnishing in their community areas was not the nicest.
