I am/was a resident of this facility

I am currently in St. Francis of Bellingham. The nurses are pretty loud talking in the nurses' station. I was talking to my son yesterday and it was an important call and he said "Mommy, turn your TV down. I can't hear you." I said, "I don't have my TV on." He says "Are you on speakerphone?" I said "I am not. I am on my phone. " He called me back and there was no difference. He still could hear all of the background out in the nurse's station. In the mornings, it's really bad, and in the afternoon, the nurses are just there. I think to them, this is just a game. I have bladder issues and they don't answer the call bells fast enough. It is so annoying. The facility itself is nice. I'm actually in a single room and I have my own bathroom. Although I don't have my own shower, you have somebody that gives you showers twice a week. Sometimes you get to miss a week, but that is something I have to get used to (somebody giving me a shower) because sometimes it turns out to be a male. If they're putting on a show, they really know how to do it. When they know my son's coming, they straighten up to the point that he even notices it. At least they know that it's kind of phony. There are some very nice nurses and CNAs around here, though. Breakfast is the only meal that we don't get to order. It automatically comes, and that's the best meal of the day. They come around and take your order for lunch and dinner, and it's not that good. I like that this facility is close to my home. The community here is nice. I got pictures of deer that just showed up in the backyard. They'll lay down and it's like they're serenading you. That's a view that you'll never forget. I got bird feeders hanging out that the birds love. It's right in front of my window. It keeps me entertained.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

This facility is “For Profit”. My mother pays over 9000.00 a month for a private room. Only one light works. She asks everyday, but 2 weeks and her other lights do not function. Her clothes disappear. She has 3 pairs off underwear left. I buy her new underwear monthly as hers disappear from laundry. 9000.00+ a month. Wow!

I visited this facility

I like St. Francis of Bellingham, but it was just chaotic. There were two to a room. It was dinnertime when I went, and it looked like they overflowed in the dining rooms. They were changing their physical therapy room to another room. It's right next to the hospital, so it's very convenient for anybody in case they have to go back to the hospital.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

St. Francis of Bellingham was awful. My stepmom had to share a room, and there was just a lot of noise in the hallway and lots of stuff going on. I was sitting there one day with my father, and some nurse rolled another patient from another room into their room to use the bathroom, which I thought was weird. She got out of there after about five days because it was not a good place to be. It was very hard for her to rest because it was so noisy and everything. They had a lot, lot more people in there and it was not good. They were just very crowded, very busy, and they had people with all different kinds of afflictions, the kind of people that maybe were a little bit nuts and people that have physical things wrong with them the way that the person who was in the room next to my stepmother was. I think she had a knee replacement, but she was only there for a few days, and then she went home. Thankfully, she didn't have a mental problem, or it wouldn't be very good, being in a room with someone who is going to be screaming all night or whatever. It has kind of dingy paint and needs a lot of improvement in a lot of ways.
