Silverado Bellevue Memory Care

After using other facilites for Memory Care for my wife who is afflicted with Cognitive Impairment conditons for the last 8 years, I am very pleased with the services offered by Silverado... We arrived when they first started approx 2 years ago...Apart from the fact that it was new and offered an attractive living environment that was light, comfortable and modern, this facility did not use the "point system" for the services the provide. The fee has been "all inclusive" for the services they provide my wife, this is highly important as the cost for this type of "care" is quite high. In addition, the food is very good and the management staff is very friendly, courteous, and accommodating. They maintain excellent sanitary conditions and house keeping. The "care giving personnel" changes are frequent as it is difficult to keep personnel on a steady basis. "Care giving" requires full commitment to the cause. But, this is to be expected in todays demanding conditions and in this industry. Under these circumstances, I plan to stay on and continue there. I recommend this facility highly and do not rate it 5 star because it is not perfect.

Silverado Bellevue was a good-looking facility. It was brand new and extremely well decorated, but it was too small. Residents had to use a shared bathroom with sliding doors in between. There was a possibility of a room with a bath, but the rooms were just very few, and they were more expensive. They needed better staffing. I went there one day, because I was trying to help my husband get settled in, and no one was there. The food was adequate. I think I cook better at home. The activities sounded good on a schedule. They had lots of things planned. The activities manager gave it a good try, but he was providing most of the care that the people were getting on the whole floor. So, what the people mostly did was just watch television, and the people who sat there controlled it.
