Outdated appearance, kind office staff, nursing staff is combative and unaccommodating or unwilling to work with family members. They assume your loved one is being dumped off to die. Nursing care is substandard, wound care and feeding tube care was substandard and resulted in 5 day hospital stay for cellulitis. I asked for every service my family member was covered for and the PT/OT/Speech therapists were fantastic . If you can visit daily to insure best care, it is worth it for PT. Ask questions, engage in care management and visit frequently. A month and a half in and my family member was stable and strong enough to be moved to assisted living. One nurse and one nursing aid were caring and efficient. Lead nurses hated their job, patients and family members. Ask questions, pay attention or you get the service that matches the appearance of this tired looking facility.

Overall, Brookside Rehab and Nursing Center is not where we would prefer having my ex-spouse. They have one nurse, who is not always on duty. They have some LPNs and CNAs. The whole country is having a hard time getting people to work, so they don't have a very big staff. Other facilities are nicer, but they have trouble getting people as well. It's one of the downsides that there aren't enough workers. The staff who work there are nice and friendly. They communicate with my daughter. They keep the place clean, and the foyer and hallways seem to be clean.
