There is plenty to do here at Sommerset. To make and meet new friends. There are many activities to participate in, bingo, coloring, outing., etc. The staff is very nice and helpful

Very pleasant and comfortable place to live. Lots of activities, shopping trips, and meals. Bus takes residents to doctor appointment. Food and dining are good.

We applied to Sommerset Retirement Community. It's quiet. They're remodeling the apartment, so it's clean and fresh. The tour person was very helpful. The dining area was nice and comfortable. They have an exercise program, poker, walking, ice cream social, religious services on Fridays and Sundays, and live performances with music. There's lots of stuff in terms of activities.

I toured the Sommerset Retirement Community. It was lovely and was just too small for my particular needs. The staff was lovely. The drawback is the size of the apartment and cost. They didn't have two bedrooms available anyhow, even if I could afford it, which I could not. The grounds were well-groomed and clean. Overall the brief tour was lovely.

I toured Sommerset Retirement Community. The staff was very nice. The apartment that I looked at, the rooms were large, and the two bedrooms are a good size. It's on the first floor with a sliding door, and has a pretty view of the trees and gardens. It's very nice. I liked the layout of the apartment. It was like a very friendly apartment. They have different types of meals. They have little areas to sit underneath the tree. It's very beautiful there.

Sommerset Retirement Community was nice and organized. The staff was nice, and welcoming, offered me a drink, and considerate. They called me back after a while, just to make sure if I needed anything else. The facility was very nice, very organized, and very sterilized. I was very impressed. They had nice pathways for people to walk. They have a close guest parking as well, so it was nice.

For me and my price point, Sommerset Retirement Community was kind of expensive. Friends of mine have moved there, so I went down to see them. I loved everything because it was independent living. I liked the grounds and the amenities that they had and everything. The people there were friendly. They had regular meals, but I had a hamburger and French fries. Those I spoke to were very nice and easy to talk to. I didn't talk to that many personnel because I was with my friends and they more or less led me by the hand around and explained everything to me. The staff was very knowledgeable. My friends would say the value for money is great, but it's two of them. I have got a single income and for me, it's just too expensive. It would be nice if I could get in there, but I can't afford that.

The only thing that I didn't like about Sommerset Retirement Community was the distance. It was a little bit out of the way for the family. I did the full tour. It seems like any other living facility. The apartments were very clean and spacious. The dining area was very clean, too. The staff was very knowledgeable about the facility. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about. The atmosphere was very communal.

Mom is going to move to Sommerset Retirement Community. The price was right and she thought that it was a good fit for her. She didn't need full care. She just wanted to have independence as well as in an area that had better help for her needs right now. The other ones were very, very expensive and she didn't need all the additional help that they provided yet. Her apartment is going to be much larger than any of the other places that were around here. We're 21 miles away from where we are, but she wanted more room and she wanted a full kitchen, and that was the only one that had a full kitchen. The other ones had little mini kitchens and she would not have been happy with that. She wanted her ability to still have a stove and a full refrigerator. There were outdoor gardens with a little patio area. They have a therapy area in-house. Wendy was awesome. She was perfect and they've been very patient and very thorough with this difficult move. My mom's coming from another state and hasn't been outside of that state for 40 years. So, it's a pretty amazing transition at 92 years old. The building is not as new as these other places that are within ten years old, but it was kept up well.

We went to tour Sommerset Retirement Community and the place was good. The person we talked to was very nice and very helpful, so everything was good. Most of the residents were talking to each other and playing games, so that was very nice. They had a library and they give the residents lots of options of things to do and where to go so they were not in one place. They were socializing with each other, joking and smiling. They just didn't have any 2 bedrooms, which is what we're looking for, otherwise, it's a good place. They only had 1 bedroom but the space was good for a 1 bedroom, and they're very clean and nice. The staff there was accommodating. They have a garden outside with flowers that are taken care of and looked good. They have buses that take you around.

Overall, we're pleased with Sommerset Retirement Community. The interior was just a little darker than the other places, which is something that I didn't personally care for quite as much. The rooms were pretty reasonable. We looked at a one-bedroom, and the layout was just fine. The building is not quite as modern, and it needs a little TLC. The grounds weren't quite as well maintained, but the community seemed good. They have a meal plan and all the services. The location is good. Sterling is not far from where I live. We saw a couple of activities. We saw the art room, the billiard table, the exercise room, and the barber/beautician that they had. It looked like there was plenty of stuff going on. They just need to do a little bit of work and some things needed a refresh. The staff during the tour, Wendy, was very helpful. There's a really good diner not too far from the place.

I toured Sommerset Retirement Community. I didn't really like much of anything about it, to be honest. It hasn't been renovated in years. It was pretty rundown and the cafeteria was pretty lacking. It just seemed old. It seemed like it hadn't been taken care of. The lady that gave us the tour was super nice. She was just manning the desk the day we were there. I don't think she was the leasing agent. The carpet in the room she showed us was dirty. The appliances were really old. They had a salon and a courtyard. But the inside just really hadn't been updated.

My brother has moved into Sommerset Retirement Community. We enjoyed meeting all the people, the staff that works there are very, very nice and helpful. They took us on a complete tour of the facility, including the apartment that he eventually moved into. The apartment was completely updated before he moved in, with new carpeting and new flooring. It had all the amenities that he needs and we're very pleased. He has a 1-bedroom, they had dinner served daily and breakfast served four times a week. They also do light housekeeping, including cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, dusting, and changing the linens once a week. They also have other exercise equipment, and other things within the facility, and they arrange various outings for the residents.

We had a nice tour at Sommerset Retirement Community. It was a larger and a much better setup place. The lady that gave me the tour was more professional and very nice. She was very knowledgeable and very friendly. The other residents appeared to be very nice, too. They smiled and said hello. It was a very friendly group. There wasn't much going on the day I was there, but there were people in the beauty parlor, they do cards, games, concerts/people playing instruments, and other things. The place was clean and neat. The facility was a nice size. I just found it a little dark. I'm more into open windows and letting the sunshine in. Their balconies were tiny as well and it was a long way from where I'm living and from where my children and friends are. Also, I do water aerobics, but there's no pool there.

I toured Sommerset Retirement Community and the price was by far what we liked the most. It was very comparable to another community we toured, but that one was about $800 more for the same thing. Everybody was great and very friendly. The upkeep was nice. They have everything my father needs like a library and a study area. They have a theater area for TV and a laundry room, too. They take them out on day trips, and they do a lot of different things. They have a grassy area with benches. The apartment also has a balcony, so he can go out on it.

Sommerset Retirement Community was fine. It was very well cleaned. The lady who toured me around was nice, very friendly, and very informative. They had a little activity going on outside and there were a couple of people playing pool in one of the rooms. There were all kinds of different areas for the residents to use.

My father is in Sommerset Retirement Community. There's a central lobby, a cafeteria, and a big TV room. It's like a cross, so there are four directions or four big hallways with apartments. It's three stories. They're not full right now. It's probably only half full. They have church service on Sundays, they have a puzzle room and a lot of people gather to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in the TV room. They pretty much once a week or every other week have a live musician come play piano or guitar. As part of the fee of living there, you get a full dinner and you get a continental breakfast every morning, which is pretty minimal. On Saturday and Sunday, you get a nice full breakfast. On weekdays, it's just cereal, fruit, and yogurt. I had dinner with him once and it was pretty good. The staff is pretty good. There's somebody that does light housekeeping and changes my dad's linens once a week, and that is included. The staff members seem to be pretty kind, very relaxed, and helpful. My dad likes the manager, Wendy. She's very nice to all the residents. Value for money is excellent.

I toured Sommerset Retirement Community for my mom, and it was great. The lady, Wendy, was very nice and she showed us everywhere. I liked how everything was laid out. It was very clean and there were lots of spaces for them to go around in. They have food options, too, and the apartments were large. It was very nice, and I liked it. The dining area was nice, too. That was cute. There was a couple playing pool, so they had a billiard room, and they had a nice little living room area with a library. They had a beauty salon that would come every week, too. I like that.

We went in and toured with the Somerset. It was pretty nice, but it was more than what we were looking for as far as cost goes. It was more like an apartment complex, and it doesn't support low-income housing, which was what my in-laws were looking for, so it would not work. It was fine. It was clean and the lady that gave us the tour was nice. It's basic and an older building. The staff was friendly. It's an older complex, so the kitchen cabinets and the kitchen appliances are outdated, but otherwise it looked like it was kept clean. I recommend making those updates for the kitchen and bathroom. Breakfast and dinner meals are included with your monthly rent. Once a week there's a cleaner. We did not like the location mainly because it was far away from my house, and it was kind of deeper into town. In order for you to go somewhere, getting out is kind of a pain.

I visited Sommerset Retirement Community two weeks ago. I was able to see their independent living. I showed up unannounced, so it wasn't like they were expecting me or any other visitor. From the second I walked in, the residents there were doing karaoke, and this is probably like 4 o'clock in the afternoon. It wasn't an activity; it was impromptu. Someone just decided to pick up the microphone and start singing. People were really getting into it, and they were genuinely having a good time. If I didn't have somewhere else to be, I would have hung out there for a while. They were all like, "Hey, who are you here to see? What are you doing?" I said I was just there to tour, so they went and showed me where the front desk was. They introduced me to the lady who works there, and told her "He's here to check this place out for his parents." It just seemed like they were all just so friendly. That was my first impression of the place. These people were really enjoying it and were happy to share their enthusiasm about the place. It wasn't the newest place that I've seen. It didn't have the most amenities, but it had everything that my parents needed and then some. The people there really enjoyed it too. I felt like it was really more of a very diverse community and just very warm and welcoming. That is the best way I could put it. With my little visit, I was really impressed. The rooms were great and everything, but the people definitely put it over the top. There was a lady there who was asking what's for dinner that night. Wendy (the staff member who was helping me) told her whatever they were having. The lady said "Oh, great! That's my favorite." She seemed to really enjoy it. I'll just stick with that. I didn't have a chance to try their food, but people seem to enjoy it. This place is a little bit older than most other places that I checked out, but it was very charming.

I took a tour of Somerset yesterday. It was very clean, very organized, very warm and safe overall. The grounds were clean and neat, everything looked appealing, as far as the excellent apartment. The apartment was good and it was clean. Overall, I thought it was a good facility. They had laundry facilities and that particular one had a dining area. Nothing looked out of place, everything looked like it was well-maintained. I don't have a whole lot of experience with retirement community, actually that was my first one, so I don't have anything to judge it against. I didn't walk away with any kind of bad feeling. I didn't feel any bad vibes or anything while I was there at all. The staff was accommodating and appropriate. I saw a few residents and everyone looked like well in place to me. I met two staff, one was actually working with the residents and the other one was like a contact person. I thought that she was appropriate while going through the tour. I checked out different areas, she didn't say like, "Hey! This is the bathroom. This is this... this is that...", I had to kinda navigate that myself, but it wasn't a bad experience at all. It's an apartment situation. It was very small but it was compact, clean and neat. It looked very, very livable. The bathroom was good. You didn't have to step into the shower area, so I thought it was good.

We visited Sommerset Retirement Community, and they were quite nice. It's a good facility. The environment, the setting, and the location were a bit better than the other place we visited. I had very limited contact with the staff, but the people we met were very nice, very knowledgeable, very flexible, and very accommodating.

I did an in-person tour of Sommerset Retirement Community. They were very nice, the manager was very, very nice, I'm very pleased, and I hope my mom can move over there. The rooms were beautiful, I loved it, very spacious, and I really liked that they had this ring where they can alert anyone that something happened to them. I also liked the very light apartments, they had a nice view because they are next to trees, and I loved it, I just loved it. Their dining room is a restaurant type.

My friend is a resident of Sommerset Retirement Community. It is OK right now. They're pretty nice people over there. They seem to try to help as much as possible. Right now, they're all still in their rooms and their food is being delivered up there, so that's pretty good. My friend just came back from a rehab, and without going out and doing a lot of activities, she is very slow in her recovery. Everyone I met has been very nice. Her room is like a studio apartment. It is very nice. She is very happy there. She is not doing a lot of activities because she is still trying to recover from a hip fracture. With COVID they're limited to their apartments. They have an exercise room, a library, and a pool table. They had music and dancing in the atrium. They have washers and dryers. They have security and they maintain everything, so it sounds like it is pretty good.

I visited Sommerset Retirement Community but I didn't like where it was located. It was really very nice, but I didn't like where it was. The staff that accommodated me was very nice as well, she's excellent. The location was hard to get to. I didn't have any food there but the dining area looked really nice. The community was clean and spacious. If it's somewhere else I wouldn't mind moving there. Some of their amenities are a pool, an activity place, a beauty shop, library and a place to sit.

Nothing really stood out in Sommerset. They had a small exercise room with classes and maybe a library and game room. The place was clean. The staff was pleasant and seemed helpful.

We went to Sommerset Retirement Community when we looked for a place for my grandmother. The staff was really nice. They had a cafeteria and they served two meals; you paid for the third meal. They did your laundry for an extra fee. They also had pretty good activities which was really nice.
