We liked the outer exterior of the Sunshine Home assisted living facility as we drove up. It looked nice against the foliage and very peaceful. The staff who greeted us was very friendly and nice. They showed us around the facility with enthusiasm, despite the fact that we did not have an appointment. The communal areas were all cozy and warm, as was the library and activity rooms. There was a variety of activities going on -- cards, games, socializing and much laughter. This put us at ease -- as we have been nervous about choosing a place for our aunt. The lunch options looked and smelled really delicious, as did the rest of the menu. Every effort is made to feed the residents in a healthful way - and they may order whatever they like -- which can be adapted to whatever their diet requires. The snacks looked good as well and are offered continuously. The furnishings throughout the facility were nicely appointed and easy to access. There is a library, several private seating area and a number of other patios and places to relax alone or with friends and family. The living spaces were all very beautiful -- and residents may bring their own furnishings if they like. They also help with decorating as needed if required. Everyone we met seemed well cared for and staff seems to genuinely enjoy their work at this facility.
