My parents went to The Pathways at Warrington. They're getting service, but they were not getting what they were sold. It seems like the admin is fully staffed, the admin gets paid, and then the people who actually give the one-on-one service are understaffed. There is no empathy a lot of times, and I hear it all over the place. My mom was saddened by a man that has helped her go to the bathroom. She is mentally with it, but not physically, and she had to ask people on more than one occasion if she did something wrong to upset them because of the way they're physically treating her. I had people telling my parents they couldn't have iced tea for dinner because they're understaffed. They didn't have enough people to get iced tea for them. On the good side, we did have a female doctor who went over my mom's Parkinson's meds and went over everything in depth and really took the time to listen to her. She actually lowered her medication doses for the Parkinson's and got her where she's not hallucinating. So that's good. Their room was much smaller than the other place. The activities were good, but what was disappointing was when the activity director was shorthanded and had to run somewhere else, and she shortened the activity time. My dad would step in and say he would do it because he's mentally capable of doing it, but sometimes they lock the stuff up, and so we ended up buying my dad his own cards and games that he could do on his own. The activities could be a little bit more. They have courtyards and libraries. There is a big room for entertainment and smaller rooms for smaller parties.

I was able to tour The Pathways at Warrington. It was pretty, nice, and new, but it was more like a rehab or hospital setup, which I didn't like. The staff was very accommodating during the tour and in providing information. The facility was very nice, it just wasn't what I wanted for my mom.
