The food was always late for dinner by an hour. On a recent respite stay approx. One month ago, hospice provide a walker upon the first few days. However, it went missing and my father fell throughout the night with no walker available according to hospice care. It was found upon the last 2 days of his stay and his fall was denied by the homecare staff who never even contacted the family at all. There were a few wonderful aids and staff. I witnessed 2 or 3 aids walking throughout the hallway stating out loud- "they think we're their slaves." Of course, one was looking right at me as I simply stared at her in disbelief. Well by all means- quit your job and save the residents and families the aggravation. How awful to think that- but to actually voice it out loud in the presence of visitors and residents is in such poor taste. I just shook my head and couldn't wait to get out of there and never come back.
