From the hospital, when my mother was in there, they wanted to put her in Kadima at Campbelltown. While we walked in there, it smelled of urine. It was so run-down. Those poor people looked very unkempt. I would never suggest that or offer that as a place to put an elderly person. Even the ambulance driver who took Mom from the hospital over there said, "No way." It was very sad. As a matter of fact, they said, "We don't have your mother, but we had the papers from the hospital." They didn't have my mother in the system, then they said they had no room. They said, "We'll get an air mattress blown up for her to sleep on." It was bad. I'd give it a zero if I could. The outside didn't look bad, but the inside was so run-down and kind of dirty-looking. The patients didn't seem like they were well kept. It seemed like they were in another world. The rooms were dingy and small, and the smell was awful. They weren't very receptive. They didn't seem willing enough to try to find a solution as far as why my mother's name wasn't in their system when we had the papers from the hospital saying that they contacted them. It seemed like we bothered them that they had to research this. It wasn't very welcoming. We were there for about an hour, and in an hour, that's what we experienced. What I saw and what we had learned from them is that the rooms had two beds, and you had to share a room. They didn't look very clean. The people in there should be compassionate. Just because the person is older, to be treated in such a manner, to me, that just isn't right. I don't understand why they allow facilities like that to operate. The staffing, the facility, the cleanliness, the care, I think that should be the highest priority.

I was at Kadima Rehabilitation & Nursing At Campbelltown for therapy. The staff was great. The food could be improved on, but they have it tailored for everybody in the place, so they're limited in what they can do in terms of salt, seasonings, and stuff. They've been working on improving what they have there. The girls that ran the activities department were really good, and the people who did the therapy were good, but the kind of therapy was limited because of the kind of place that it was.

If I had to do it over, I would have never put my Mother in this facility. It is dirty and unkempt. There never was enough staff. The food was awful. I had to bring in meals from home just so she would eat. The RN staff that sits at the desk were very rude. There were a number of spiders that I saw in her room and killed. Then the next thing you know, I went in one evening, and she had a bite on her back. I reported this to the RN that SITS AT THE DESK, and they blew it off as a boil and said, "We'll keep an eye on it." Well, it got redder and bigger and finally after 2 weeks it was infected and I was told that she was given an antibiotic for it. I would not recommend this nursing home, if you want to call it that, to anyone. There were a few compassionate people working there that I remember, but ONLY A FEW. In my opinion, this place needs to be shut down before they kill someone, but by now, they may have already done so.
