"We visited a friend at Messiah Lifeways Mechanicsburg, PA. They have a lovely restaurant right on the campus. The restaurant is very nice. Delicious food. My friend has a two-bedroom apartment. She has a nice two-car garage, too. She uses her car on one side and the other is her storage. It's nice. It's all good. The staff seems very nice. The place is very nice and very attractive. With regards to activities, my friend is really happy with the activities. She has joined a couple of different things that she was interested in and it looks like she has a lot of choices. She is very pleased with it. She thought that it was very reasonable in terms of what she could afford and what she could expect from them. I think she is very happy with it so far."

"I can't say enough wonderful things about Claremont. My dad was in there for his final journey and the support, patience, understanding and compassion that was shown by the staff was amazing. The staff handled the stressor of their shifts very well and never once got annoyed with us or anyone else. The Facility was clean and secure. I love how the staff cared for each resident as they were family. My 11 year old daughter was so thankful for them she made the nurses bracelets so say thank you for their kindness."

"The staff at Church of God Home explained the different wings that they had and what they've done in the skilled nursing. There were times that they get snacks and do activities. They try to keep them out of their rooms as much as possible and interact with other residents. They said that whatever requests we would want for our father, they would do it. It was a very nice place and everybody was very polite and answered our questions. You could have a one-bedroom there. The room can either have just one bed or two, depending on what you would want. It also had a bathroom, a dresser, and a TV."

"We had a very positive experience with Thornwald Home. My mom was in the hospital for 3 weeks, and was in need of a skilled nursing facility for 2+ weeks before she could transition home. Our social worker at Thornwald, Kathleen, was very supportive in our onboarding process all the way through to our transition to home health at the end of our stay. The medical staff was phenomenal in their care and ongoing support of my mom's complex needs with her wound care, and the ongoing OT and PT helped her gain the strength, balance and independence to be able to transition home safely. She also thought the food was great, the variety of the menu was wonderful, and the facility was very clean. It's never an easy situation for your loved one to need this level of care, and I have to commend all of the social workers, nursing staff and therapists that manage and triage so many needs at the same time. They truly are a blessing, and I'm so grateful for all of their support during a vulnerable time in my mom's healing process. I can't say enough good things about our experience at Thornwald."

"We chose EverTrue Cumberland Crossings because my son lives five minutes away, and I'll be much closer to him if I need him. We looked at an empty unit, and it was a unit compared to what I'll get. It was very clean and spacious. They're very large, and I'm getting a two-bedroom cottage. It looked very nice, and I'm very anxious to get there. They have fitness programs, a heated indoor exercise pool, and different committees and clubs you can join. They also have a walkway around the whole campus. I have a scooter and I'll be able to use it all over the campus. They have a chef, and I get 20 meals a month included in my rent. They go on trips and outings, and there's a little mall they go to, and there's a Walmart. They make little two-day trips around the area, which sounds good. The concierge gave my son a tour. I haven't been on a tour, but have been in the unit. I think he was very pleased with the tour that he got."

"My wife was in Forest Park for two days. The rooms were a little more comfortable, inviting, and aesthetically pleasing. It was clean, the rooms had big windows that let some natural light in, and the bed was good. The room was small, but nicely appointed. The staff was very good, the food was good, and other people say the physical therapy was particularly good."

"We were nervous that dad would have trouble moving from his home of 56 years into a nursing home, but that staff and fellow residents welcomed him with open arms and he loves his new friends and the wonderful care givers. Food is very good with a wide variety of choices. The building itself reminds you of walking into a resort. A large courtyard allows residents to enjoy watching birds, squirrels and bunnies. Daily activities (bingo, balloon bop, cornhole, movies, exercises, trips to local restaurants, shopping, even fishing at Possum Lake) keep the residents engaged. "

"My mom has been a resident in the Arcadia unit since the beginning of 2020. My family is so relieved to know that she receives excellent care from the kind and caring staff. Everyone knows the residents preferences and stories, and we are always greeted warmly. Even in these trying times, all is being done to keep the residents safe snd happy. Can't thank them enough!"

"My dad is in a full nursing home dementia unit at Golden Living Center. The staff there is very responsive. My dad is being very well taken care of. He gets walking therapy there. There is enough staff to take care of him. His room is just a typical hospital setting. "

"I visited a resident that is in your care. She is in the dementia./Alzheimer’s unit. When my friend and I arrived I was expecting this place to be like all the others I had been to. I was totally shocked. We arrived in her unit it was clean the floors shined there the place even smelled clean. Our friends room was orderly and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They had activities for the residence. Our friend was greeted by another resident they hugged I had to smile it was like they hadn’t seen each other in days. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs care for their loved ones. "

"My mother is in The Gardens at Camp Hill. I haven't been able to see it as of yet. My interaction with the staff has been good. They made time for me to video chat with my mother. She seems to be getting along with people very well and enjoying a lot of the staff that work with her. My mother is in the skilled unit currently. She was in quarantine for a little bit, but she is out of quarantine now. I can bring her stuff and I may be able to see her room, but I'm not going to be able to go inside of it. From the outside, I might be able to see it. The facility itself is quarantining the residents from the outside. So far, the atmosphere seems to be positive. If I suggest an activity that my mother likes, even if I mention it second hand, they say that they can get those things for her. I want to ask the staff about the activities; that's something I'm not sure at the moment what they're doing. I know my mother is doing activities on her own like coloring and crossword, but I don't know if they need to schedule an activity with her at the moment. There is a lot I don't know about the facility as of yet. However, I feel like my mother is being taken care of. I feel like there is some decent communication and positive interactions with my mother."

"Homeland Center was horrendous. It was dingy and very dark, and first impressions were very unfavorable. The facility section that my dad would have been in was one hallway. The room he would have been in had a view of a white brick wall because I pulled open the curtains and I saw a brick wall. The room was very dark and dismal. The space that is allowed for the residents was minimal to the point where I looked outside on the terrace to see what the outdoor section would be like, and it was extremely small. You were looking almost at a barrier, because they had to build a high fence, so there was just no view at all. I felt that every question I asked was met with, "Well, not in this section." I walked out and quite frankly, my husband and I agreed we wouldn't put a dead dog in there. When people said it's lovely, it's not the section we were shown nor was the section he would be allowed to go in. You enter a lobby and then you have to take an elevator. There's no welcoming feeling at all. On the second floor, there was a hallway where the residents gather and live, and it's very confined and very depressing. Walking through it, it felt very institutional and very dated. There's very limited opportunities. I did not see a flow for anything to happen that would be beyond what I'm familiar with in other places. I would never recommend it to anyone. My father would've needed skilled care there, and he was gonna be long term. I'm sure Homeland comes highly recommended, but I don't think it's the area that we saw. When I asked to see that, we were not permitted. So, when I've heard positive things, it's probably truthful on another wing, and I didn't have preview to that. I only know what I saw."

"My Mother has been in the personal care wing at Kinkora since 2019. We are over the top pleased with her care and. Attitude toward life and how much she has improved since entering the facility. They have been able to ween off some very heavy pain medication that had created in her a very negative outlook and personality. Now, at 99, she is alert, mobile - with a walker, so pleasant to spend time with, very active as covid restrictions have allowed, and POSITIVE?!! The wrap around porch of the mansion has stunning river views, her room is sunny, pleasant and much larger than those at other area facilities we viewed. She was able to take her own furniture which were able to set up like her home. The cost is extremely competitive and the staff is great - knows us all and interacts with Mom well. "I must leave this review. My dear friend was admitted into spring Creek- she's been there for a matter of weeks, I've also been there before but this time was different, there was a light there and her name was Tiffany, as I've visited before on the South 1 building, there was a smiling face, a happiness that greeted me and others as we entered the unit. A pleasant hello and how are you were exchanged. It made me feel good as a visitor and that I had never gotten this type of treatment before, most of the time I was ignored or not even acknowledged. I asked if she was new or agency she stated that she was a new staff member employed by Spring Creek and that this was her first day,I asked her if she was working with my friend she kindly pulled out a paper and searched for the name and kindly said no, I'm sorry but ill be very happy to help you with her, I was astonished. Most of the time I get a reply of "thats not my patient, or I don't know" but never "I'll be happy to help you" that was so kind and generous, as we walked down the hall she just smiled and made light conversation, was a very pleasant young lady, enthusiastic to help .she helped me with my friend and was on her way, she offered to help again if needed, said her goodbyes and stated that she hopes we have a wonderful day. I was so a happy to have met her I told Tiffany welcome! and that this type of personality and attitude were much needed at this place. Tiffany jumped to the chance to help, with no hesitation. Thats the type of care givers I like to see taking care of my friends and family. If my friend wasn't on her hallway and she treated us with so much respect, I can imagine how wonderful she's treated her patients. "
