We had a very positive experience with Thornwald Home. My mom was in the hospital for 3 weeks, and was in need of a skilled nursing facility for 2+ weeks before she could transition home. Our social worker at Thornwald, Kathleen, was very supportive in our onboarding process all the way through to our transition to home health at the end of our stay. The medical staff was phenomenal in their care and ongoing support of my mom's complex needs with her wound care, and the ongoing OT and PT helped her gain the strength, balance and independence to be able to transition home safely. She also thought the food was great, the variety of the menu was wonderful, and the facility was very clean. It's never an easy situation for your loved one to need this level of care, and I have to commend all of the social workers, nursing staff and therapists that manage and triage so many needs at the same time. They truly are a blessing, and I'm so grateful for all of their support during a vulnerable time in my mom's healing process. I can't say enough good things about our experience at Thornwald.

I’m here at Thornwald Home; it was closer to my children’s home, so they could visit me all the time. I can ring a bell, and within 7 to 12 minutes, there’s someone checking me out; they’re good. It’s a nice facility. I get along fine, I’ve made some friends, and they let me help out here. The staff was quite well-oriented, the aides were well informed as to what’s going on, and the nurses were up on each individual person. They have a pretty stable agenda, there’s a different menu every day, and the food is well prepared, but not gourmet. We’re very closely monitored here, and every night before I went to bed, they checked me for bruises or marks.

We really liked Thornwald Home. It was very nice, up to date, very clean, and it’s just been renovated. It is phenomenal, and that would have been my number one pick. The staff was very friendly. It’s top rank as far as appeal, being in a homey place, and up to date with equipment.

I'm at Thornwald Home. My sister chose this place for me. We all agreed that this was more homey looking. The staff is great. I couldn't have any better nurses or aides. With regards to the room, it is just a room where you have a refrigerator and your own furniture.
