"This is by far one of the best nursing homes I've ever been too. I was a youth director of a local church in New York. During my time with the church, the youth and I would travel to several states and work in different nursing homes. This one stood out for me. I've been to so many homes I can barely remember their names however I'll never forget this one. The staff was so friendly and polite. I found it amazing that ALL of the staff knew all of the resident's names. To me that meant a lot. The facility offered many different services. There was a section for the mentally ill; that was a secure lockdown facility. There were also different sections depending on your level of needs. Some rooms were completely separate from the facility and were just for residents that didn't necessarily need care or aide, however just felt uncomfortable living alone. This is by far the best nursing home I've ever attended and I will never forget this place. "

"It was a community with separate homes. They had a nursing home and health assistance to people to needed something less than a nursing home. The staff was helpful. It was not crowded. It had lots of spaces between the facilities. They also had different activities. "

"My in-laws lived here for many years. (They recently moved to an Assisted Living community near us, so are no longer at Bethany). We spent a lot of time with them at Bethany, and we were very happy they were there. The buildings are elegant, clean and easy to navigate. Their apartment was spacious and light-filled, with high ceilings and a beautiful porch. It included two huge walk in closets, two bathrooms, a large laundry room and an easy-to-work-in kitchen. The staff were always helpful, and the activities available were many and varied. The grounds are well kept. My in-laws enjoyed the pool, the wellness center, activities like bridge. There are two restaurants in the building with delicious food. It is great that landscaping, snow removal, maintenance, trash collection, basic cable, and utilities are all included in the monthly fee. When my mother-in-law suffered some health setbacks, having the skilled nursing unit onsite allowed my father-in-law to visit easily. We would recommend Bethany Village to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, healthy and beautiful place to live."

"I visited friends in Messiah Lifeways independent living and my brother-in-law was also there for rehab. He got excellent care, they have excellent food and we have no complaints. I felt that it was very pleasant, the room he had looked out on a nice scenery when I looked outside. I ate in the cafeteria with him, which was very, very nice. He was happy with his food. I have eaten there but was presented by the people who were hosting us. It was expensive but it's also where I want to be, the location is drawing me. They have restaurants, my friend wants us to come over and eat in one of the cafeterias, and they have a pool."

"Homeland Center was horrendous. It was dingy and very dark, and first impressions were very unfavorable. The facility section that my dad would have been in was one hallway. The room he would have been in had a view of a white brick wall because I pulled open the curtains and I saw a brick wall. The room was very dark and dismal. The space that is allowed for the residents was minimal to the point where I looked outside on the terrace to see what the outdoor section would be like, and it was extremely small. You were looking almost at a barrier, because they had to build a high fence, so there was just no view at all. I felt that every question I asked was met with, "Well, not in this section." I walked out and quite frankly, my husband and I agreed we wouldn't put a dead dog in there. When people said it's lovely, it's not the section we were shown nor was the section he would be allowed to go in. You enter a lobby and then you have to take an elevator. There's no welcoming feeling at all. On the second floor, there was a hallway where the residents gather and live, and it's very confined and very depressing. Walking through it, it felt very institutional and very dated. There's very limited opportunities. I did not see a flow for anything to happen that would be beyond what I'm familiar with in other places. I would never recommend it to anyone. My father would've needed skilled care there, and he was gonna be long term. I'm sure Homeland comes highly recommended, but I don't think it's the area that we saw. When I asked to see that, we were not permitted. So, when I've heard positive things, it's probably truthful on another wing, and I didn't have preview to that. I only know what I saw."
