My father is staying at Shippensburg Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. They had a Medicare star rating of 5 out of 5, which is why I chose them, and I'm very happy so far with that. They have been very kind to him, so that's why we're having a hard time leaving. I just really like it there and don't have too many concerns. We're really appreciative of the care that they're providing, and the nursing staff seemed very involved. I attended a church service with my dad, and it was just very kind that they were able to provide that, too. They also have a lot of other community-based activities, which is good. I also noticed that he definitely looked very nicely cleaned up when I was there. I could tell he had a recent bath, and he just seems in good spirits. The facility was very clean, and it seemed like they took good care of everything. I didn't see anything that concerned me. It smells nice and clean, too. I feel like all nursing homes are pretty expensive, but I understand that that just comes with the territory, and they're all like that.

Interactions with staff were terrible. They won't let us visit our friend and she wants visitors. They won't explain why and when I try to call on the phone the social worker, Brandi hangs up on me. They are cruel not to let us visit our friend and it's cruel to our friend because she wants us to come.

My husband was in Shippensburg Health Care Center. When he first went in, he was placed in a room for three people. There is a man there already taking up two-thirds of the room. He played his television so loud, you could hardly hear yourself. It took me a while to get him out of that room into one of his own, where he had a little space. They had a dining area, but it was not fancy. It was just a room, and he very seldom went there to eat. He usually ate in his room. It was a clean facility, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I suggest a nicer dining facility and a recreation room or a community room. The only one they had was the one they used for meals. They did not have an area for puzzles, games, books, or a place to go to and do things on your own.

As a POA of a current resident, I can honestly say their billing office is horrible, never return your calls and have monthly billing errors that must be addressed on a regular basis but when you try to contact their billing office they refuse to return your calls without calling them back at least 3 times. Just awful customer service.

My grandfather went here and he actually enjoyed it, he wasn’t ever complaining of any mistreatment. I think it’s a decent nursing home.
