I visited SpiriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Utz Terrace. Their community is very nice, but very expensive. It is independent living. I toured one of their cottages and two of their apartments. It was very clean and very nice. I would live there in a minute if it weren't for the price. They had one and two-bedroom apartments. The rooms were a nice size and had plenty of room for furniture. They were very well kept. The person who gave the tour was the person who lived there and volunteered to take us around. She was very knowledgeable of the place and did her best to give it her best sell. They have just about everything. They take buses to activities off campus, and they have activities there in their activity center. There's something you could do almost every day. I don't know what church services or who leads them, but they have services on Sunday. I did check the dining area and some of their food. At that point, it was like open house food. It was just appetizer kind of things, and that was fine. I actually have a friend who lives there, too. I didn't eat a meal there, but they've never complained about the food. They actually live in a cottage, so they do their own cooking too, which makes a difference. I didn't get to be with much of the staff. Several years ago, I had another friend, but she needed care, and they were very good to her. That was back when there were more employees. These days, everybody's a little shorthanded, so I have no idea now how that would be, but they have different levels of care. They're always doing something. It's a lot to put down to live there, and then there is a monthly fee, so it's a little on the expensive side.

We chose Lutheran for the location. It met our requirements: the way the place was laid out, the services, and it had a lot more to offer than we were looking for. They’re really good. There were many things to do there, but my family member does not participate.

We are very happy with the care and attention our mother is receiving! All staff members are efficient, courteous, and are both polite and friendly while supplying care. The facility is beautifully decorated, and kept immaculately clean! Everyone we have come into contact with is friendly, helpful and kind to the residents.
