I am a resident of Tallmadge Health and Rehab. They are constantly running out of supplies even simple things like washcloths. The food service needs some help. I have to give it to them, they're trying, but as a type 2 diabetic, it is a struggle for me every day to try to keep myself with a nutritious balance that doesn't wreck my blood sugar level, but they serve so much starch. They're pretty clean. They've got a nice staff who does that very well when they're here. Some of the aides are still good, but the good ones speak up, and then they're fired. So I live here in this constant paranoia, of people so afraid to do any self-initiative because they're so afraid they're going to be fired. And a lot of them just quit. There are bookshelves and things here. They're pretty good at that, they've had a lot of donations, but as for senior activities, it's very rare that we ever get out to go shopping. They have only one little van that doesn't hold more than four people. So it can take months before you're allowed to get out of the place. When the people got better jobs, they were not replaced, so, we have an activity director who doesn't like people. She's very introverted and very paranoid. I'm not allowed to make toast even with my brand new toaster because they feel uncomfortable. I asked them if I could bring my good bread to the kitchen, would they toast it? "No, that's against our policy." That's the kind of unreasonableness I deal with here.
