My dad is at The Lodge Nursing & Rehab Center. He has been there for two months now. If someone is ill or having a lot of health issues, I would say they're very, very good. My dad is in a double semi-private room, and it's spacious, but it's more of a hospital setting than any type of residential, semi-independent living. Cleanliness is very, very good though. I have tried their food and it's good. My dad likes their food, too. With regard to activities, they try to tailor the activities based on what the patient can do.

WHO WE ARE:
The Lodge Nursing & Rehab Center has been serving seniors in Symmes Township, Loveland, Mason, Blue Ash, and Greater Cincinnati for over 30 years. We are conveniently located at Montgomery Rd. & Union Cemetery Road with easy access to I-71 and I-275. We are family-owned and operated by Caring Place Healthcare Group, which represents three generations of family members and over 50 years in senior living and skilled nursing facilities here in Cincinnati. Our owners are regularly in our community almost weekly to ensure our residents receive consistency in services and nothing but the best!
Our nursing home offers skilled nursing for long-term care, trained therapists for short-term rehabilitation, and a secure Memory Care unit. We recently remodeled the entire building making it modern and welcoming.
We boast staff longevity with many of our team members with us 10-30 years. We have received awards from U.S. News & World Report for Best Nursing Home, deficiency-free health surveys from the State of Ohio, and consistently achieving a 4 or 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid… but when it comes down to what you, our potential residents and family members want to know, is that our reputation speaks louder than any awards. We may not be the new shinny kid on the block ~ we’re better! What we are is a well-oiled, well-maintained machine and well-known for our excellence in all areas of serving our senior residents.
That reputation is backed by generations of family members who have trusted us for their care, and that says a lot about who we are.
WHAT WE’RE KNOWN FOR:
Our rehabilitation team receives high praise from current and past patients. They truly listen to each patient and get to know them personally which helps to motivate each individual to achieve their goals for going home quicker. Their relationship goes beyond patient-therapist, to being treated like family.
Our full-time activity director does an amazing job of really fun things to do. Regular parties are happening all the time, live entertainment and our yearly birthday parties, Thanksgiving and Christmas to name a few are enjoyed by residents and family alike.
Our location is highly desirable with The Lodge Retirement Community on campus making us a continuing care retirement community (CCRC).

The Lodge Nursing & Rehab Center is generally pretty good. The place seems clean and doesn't need any repairs. The food smells good and my mom doesn't complain about it. They have her walk and have her go to bingo. She goes to the common living area and socializes with the other residents. Some of the staff are excellent and then some are good/average, but she's had some significant improvement while she was there. I like the doctor they have, too. It's just very difficult to get resident information and medical information without having to contact numerous people (if they're even available). That's been my main issue.

This is the best I could ever ask for . I researched before my 89 year old mother was placed there . Best decision ever . They are very attentive and do what’s best for the patient . They made sure she was not in pain and were truly concerned . I cannot say enough positive comments . They were helpful in so many ways . These folks are genuine care givers

I was at The Lodge in Oct. 2018 for 3 weeks. My clothes were stolen the 3rd day. No one cared about replacing them. There was a note on the closet door Family Does Laundry. We had to have a family meeting to get my PT/OT increased from just 20 minutes per day. Nobody offered to help me out of bed except to go to therapy. I could barely walk with a walker when I was released. I was there again this August. My clothes were stolen on the second day. Again, no replacement. No one cares. My roommate had several clothes missing also. The nursing staff was okay, the aides were nice. The night shift staff were terrible. The food was mostly good. I would not recommend going there for Rehab. The Management staff on down appears to just be "doing a job", nothing more. The atmosphere is a noncaring one. Not a pleasant experience either time. I will not go back and would not recommend this "5 star" establishment to anyone.

Overall The Lodge does a pretty good job. Some of the employees act nonprofessional, but most seem to enjoy their jobs and some are honestly terrific. The latter call when an issue arises or a change in medication occurs, etc. Almost everyone is friendly, smiles and speaks to me when they see me. I wish my family member had more room for personal items and the lighting in the room is horrible.

The staff are very unprofessional, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. The RN who meet with us was very rude and disrespectful. If you find another place for your loved one do so!!!

The Lodge almost killed my dad. He was in there 2 1/2 weeks. He ended up admitted to the hospital severely dehydrated. They do not even feed the patients if they fall asleep in their wheelchair during meals. I saw it with my own eyes. None of the residents had water pitchers. I wouldn't take my dog there.

I visited the Lodge Care Center. The rooms were very large and nice. They had lots of things going on, like trips and things for people to do. They served two meals a day.

Our WW2 Veteran soon to be 100 years old Father was not treated very well during his stay. When he moved to the assisted living facility 4 years ago my brother and I were assured they would be able to care for him in every stage - as they also had a nursing facility as well as an alzheimer/ dementia unit. About a year ago we were told he needed too much care to stay in assisted living because he kept falling and it took up to 5 people to lift him. Keep in mind he weighs 145 lbs. We hired someone in addition to paying them each month to also help him if he needed it. But after a short period of time they insisted he had to be moved to the nursing facility. A few months ago he started showing signs of dementia that manifested itself in sexually inappropriate behavior. It is a fact that this is a sign of dementia. He wasn't having sex with patients . He is wheelchair bound. It was mostly verbal. Still we understood it was wrong. His doctor put him on meds to help with this. They told us that they could not handle his type of behavior and that he had 30 days to move out. We applied for a hearing and the mediator told us it was going to be ruled in our favor, but we told them we did not want him to stay in a place that disrespected him and did not want him.Is it just a coincidence that after my Dad gave The Lodge his entire life savings of $160,000 and told them he was now going to be on Medicaid , that he was then told he had to leave? What does this tell you about the Lodge ?an This is how they treat the people they advertise they will treat so well. How would you like your loved one to be treated this way. We moved out Father today to another facility. This is ridiculous that this almost 100 year old man was forced to be uprooted again. As we were moving our Father today, not one of the people that met with us to tell us he had to leave even had the decency or courtesy to say goodbye to the man. This speaks volumes doesn't it?

My mother-in-law stayed her for about 3 months combined over several visits for rehab after hospital visits. I have a lot of positive things to say about The Lodge. The facility is always kept up well, there isn't a lot of bad odors common in nursing homes, staffing levels seem higher than other facilities which translates into higher levels of care, the quality of the food appears to be good. I'm giving only 3 stars because of the administration and staff that run the facility. Family care conferences are infrequent and our first one was a waste of our time. Nobody there really knew my mother-in-law or her situation and admitted to it. It was frustrating to lose time off work for this meeting that didn't provide any information. When I asked a question about long-term nursing, I was told my MIL didn't need to be in a nursing home. This was quite different than what I had been told by other healthcare professionals who were more familiar with her and was very frustrating to have such a blanket statement made in front of my MIL who is very resistant to ever staying long-term in a nursing home. What really made me frustrated was our experience with transferring her from The Lodge to an assisted living facility 4 hours away in SW Indiana where my family had relocated. As many of you know, you can’t just check yourself in to a care facility. You need a doctors order for the transfer. I was told by the AL facility that The Lodge was basically not cooperating with the transfer even though The Lodge recommended to us that we place her in AL. They wouldn’t fax over her records so the AL had to contact a hospital directly to get them. When we left The Lodge to drive my MIL to the AL in Indiana, I had assumed the paperwork for the transfer had been taken care of by The Lodge. I got a call from the AL place on the way down that The Lodge still hadn’t sent over the orders so that she could be transferred. I literally had to pull over to call The Lodge to make sure they would cooperate. I was assured by someone from The Lodge that they would send the orders over right away. You would think having to call from the side of the road would get their attention, but they still ignored us and wouldn’t cooperate. After arriving at the AL place, I was told they did make contact with The Lodge but they still wouldn’t send the order over. Fortunately, the AL used their own doctor to write the order for her to stay there. Had it not been for that, we would have been 4 hours away from Cincinnati with all my MIL’s belonging in the back of a U-Haul truck and nowhere for her to stay. Like I said earlier, there are a lot of positive aspects of the Lodge and the staff that cares for the residents are wonderful, it’s just the administration and a lot of the office staff that I have problems with. I don’t expect them to be perfect but when they continually refuse to help, even after calling from the side of the road, you have to question where their values are and if they’re really in this to help people out.

The Lodge take really good care of my grandmother. They have a very friendly staff and excellent food when I go too visit her. The rooms are always kept very nice and the staff is available 24/7 catering to all of my grandmothers needs. Another thing is that the price to stay there is very reasonable compared to the level of care a resident receives. The only complaint I can think of is the outside of the building is not very well kept, some of the siding seems to be falling off and the grass isn't always very well tamed. there are plenty of parking for multiple visitors. Another plus is that the residents have a lot of freedom they are free to go too any part of the building and there are many activities for my grandmother to do at pretty much any time of the day.
