"You have two kinds of staff at Nhc Healthcare - Anderson, one of them is the nurses that want to put you in bed at 6:00, and if you don't take it then, they want you to wait until they've finished their rounds and you'll be seen back at 11:00. They had a very knowledgeable intake person. She met me when I was able to be met. She stayed late and helped me fill out all the papers that I needed to and checked on everything if she was covered for anything. My wife liked the food. It was difficult for me to walk and I thought the place was laid out poorly. If the room starts at 101 and your loved one is in 138, then it's a long walk. The building was up for a while, but it didn't seem old. They had to Hoyer lift my wife up and down and nobody complained. Nobody even had a crooked smile. They were all very pleasant. I think she liked their activities when she was with the therapist. However, I can't help thinking about those people screaming in the hall, and when I brought it to anyone's attention, they said, "Oh, she does that all the time.""

"I choose to go to Anmed Rehab after a hip replacement. Nursing staff was terrific. They answered the call bell almost immediately. Responded quickly for request for pain meds. The therapists are awesome!!! The gym area is very crowded and could be enlarged. The down side of my experience was the horrible food. The meal is determined by the company headquarters so there is no special meal planning such as a diabetic diet. With so much emphasis on privacy, the facility needs to ensure that all patients have a private room. Overall I would return to this facility"

"My grandmother has lived in Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa for 3 years. She moved there when she had a hip replacement and could no longer care for herself without a risk of falling. I have been visiting her regularly on Mondays and Thursdays since she was moved there. She is taken care of very well and I have no complaints regarding her care. The facility provides for regular activities for the residents including bingo and a book club.She initially had trouble adjusting to living in a long term care facility. Being in a new setting and meeting new people was initially difficult for her; however, her roommate quickly became good friends with her and has helped her to cope with the life change.Her nurses and CNAs treat her well and neither she nor myself have had any complaints with the way that they care for her. It was a difficult decision to make initially but with our families busy schedule we had to make the choice, and I believe that we made the right one. She has had no falls or incidence occur during her stay with the facility. "

"We took my dad to Ellenburg Nursing Center on a Friday mid afternoon, but he passed away the next morning. The people in charge seemed to be very caring, and even though my dad had Medicare and Medicaid, they would be giving my father rehabilitation, and they would work on his diabetic diet and healthy diet. It's not really luxurious; they were having renovations at the moment. They had a place for his dog, and we would have been able to take the dog to him. We could have taken him to lunch. After so many days of a person being in there, you can check them out and take them to lunch or a movie. They also had a step-up facility where they have a hospice. They also celebrate their birthdays. They have a big TV room and a big lunch room. When I went to visit my father, there were people down the hall in wheelchairs, and some of them seemed to be really bad, but the people were very responsive to them. "

"My sister-in-law moved to Fleetwood Post Acute. The client seems well taken care of, and the employees are caring. It's not brand new or anything like that, but it's very clean and it's just well taken care of. She's in a shared room. They do have activities, but she can't take part in them right now. She's pretty much in bed at the moment. She's not eating, but from what I've seen, the food looks good. I've tried to get her to eat it, but she's not interested. They're expensive, but other places are more expensive."

"Steer clear of Hartwell. I have documented medication errors and medical conditions that went untreated brought to the attention of Administrator, Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. When these issues were supposedly investigated, things were covered up or left off the report in their favor. The floor nurses are programmed to be robots just to pass meds. and follow doctors orders. Management including shift nursing supervisors didn’t even know what was going on. Their was no accountability, staff could pretty much do what they wanted and get away with it. On several occasions, my loved one wanted to go to bed early because of not feeling well and was told they couldn’t until after supper! The only positive thing I could say is there were a few caring CNA’s who worked there but no longer are that did a great job."

"I have been staying in a room that is not that big. The people here at Capstone are OK. I'm doing therapy for one hour a day. They have been trying to get me acclimated to a wheelchair. They wanted to strengthen my right side, but I want to walk because I don't want to use a wheelchair. About the food -- let me put it this way -- I can cook better than them, and I have only one eye. It is a rehab center for short term and long term rehabilitation. In my case, it is short term rehabilitation. "

"Foothills Retirement Community was my first choice if I would move my dad. It was a complete facility. I tried their food and it was delicious. With regards to the room, you could choose the one you wanted. "

"Richard M. Campbell veteran's nursing home is a great place for family members who are getting up in the years and aren't able to do most things by themselves anymore. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel very welcome. The nurses seem to know a lot about what they are doing with their patients. All nurses are registered and licensed and help patients twenty four hours a day. The facility is very clean and well maintained. This facility also has a registered dietitian for every patient and the meals are made at nursing home. They even have laundry services there that they collect three times a day. The bad thing about this place and all that it has to offer is that the pharmacy technicians are only available five days out of the week. To be able to get into this nursing home as a patient, you have to have lived in South Carolina for at least a year and received a discharge from the military that was not dishonorable. "

"The staff was caring to the residents and the food was great. The owners and managers run a very smooth faculty. "

"My mother has moved into Piedmont Post Acute. The main reason we chose it was because she had been there once before. It was under a different name, but it's the same staff and everything, and it's close to her family. She really likes it there. Right now, she's there for rehabilitation to help her walk again after the break of her leg. The staff has been very helpful and very attentive to her. She likes the staff, especially the therapeutic staff that are working with her. She has commented on how good the food is. She was surprised. She does memory testing and things like that. What they're doing with her right now is therapy to help her walk again. They have a salon and a courtyard and a formal dining area, and if her family wanted to come in and fix a meal and have a meal with her, they can. They have quite a few amenities that would be admirable for most places. Right now, her fees are being taken care of by Medicaid and her insurance."
