"My grandmother has lived in Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa for 3 years. She moved there when she had a hip replacement and could no longer care for herself without a risk of falling. I have been visiting her regularly on Mondays and Thursdays since she was moved there. She is taken care of very well and I have no complaints regarding her care. The facility provides for regular activities for the residents including bingo and a book club.She initially had trouble adjusting to living in a long term care facility. Being in a new setting and meeting new people was initially difficult for her; however, her roommate quickly became good friends with her and has helped her to cope with the life change.Her nurses and CNAs treat her well and neither she nor myself have had any complaints with the way that they care for her. It was a difficult decision to make initially but with our families busy schedule we had to make the choice, and I believe that we made the right one. She has had no falls or incidence occur during her stay with the facility. "

"Right now, my mother is in a nursing home at NHC. It is clean, the staff is really nice, and the food is very good. They have lots of activities. My mother is having her birthday party there in a couple weeks. I’d rate them about a 4. It would be higher than that if they hadn’t hurt her hip the first day she was there. "

"AnMed Rehab has very good physical therapy. They give patients a schedule of what time they have therapies every night for the next day and that helps with planning visits as well as having an idea what the next day brings. All of the staff have excellent skills with both the patient and families- not usual in my vast experience with hospitals nursing homes doctors offices physical therapists, etc. Everyone very friendly and helpful and polite. Watch what medicines your loved one is getting - they're fine with going over it with you - stay on top of it. The food is actually good, I ate with my Dad quite often. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of no private rooms. It's a deal breaker to have 2 elderly men have to share a bathroom. The rooms are too small to handle 2 wheelchairs in and out of rooms easily. There is no privacy with just a curtain between the two - everyone hears everything. 2 TVs in each room is good but the volume of the other ones is always loud even with the speaker on the pillow. My dad spent a lot of time just sitting in the day room or up at the front reception to avoid both of his roommates incessantly chattering wives - not something I foresaw. It was freakish. It feels as if this place was designed with a much younger clientele in mind than the bunch of 80+ people in there. A lot of patients said they'd be happy to come back as outpatient physical therapy but never again as inpatient. "

"My sister-in-law moved to Fleetwood Post Acute. The client seems well taken care of, and the employees are caring. It's not brand new or anything like that, but it's very clean and it's just well taken care of. She's in a shared room. They do have activities, but she can't take part in them right now. She's pretty much in bed at the moment. She's not eating, but from what I've seen, the food looks good. I've tried to get her to eat it, but she's not interested. They're expensive, but other places are more expensive."

"Last month my mom became a resident of Ellenburg.Nursing Center. Every one I have met from the admissions office to the nursing staff have shown a genuine concern for my mom. I have never heard a negative comment or seen a negative attitude from any of the nursing staff. I know mother is well taken care of and she is safe. Even the activities director is fantastic. Mother used to work crossword puzzles and as her dementia has progressed, she can only work the word search puzzles, she always has a new puzzle book in her room. I can not say enough positive things about Ellenburg. Everytime I visit my mom, I try to make a point to tell someone what a blessing they are to me and how much they are appreciated. "

"Steer clear of Hartwell. I have documented medication errors and medical conditions that went untreated brought to the attention of Administrator, Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing. When these issues were supposedly investigated, things were covered up or left off the report in their favor. The floor nurses are programmed to be robots just to pass meds. and follow doctors orders. Management including shift nursing supervisors didn’t even know what was going on. Their was no accountability, staff could pretty much do what they wanted and get away with it. On several occasions, my loved one wanted to go to bed early because of not feeling well and was told they couldn’t until after supper! The only positive thing I could say is there were a few caring CNA’s who worked there but no longer are that did a great job."

"I have been staying in a room that is not that big. The people here at Capstone are OK. I'm doing therapy for one hour a day. They have been trying to get me acclimated to a wheelchair. They wanted to strengthen my right side, but I want to walk because I don't want to use a wheelchair. About the food -- let me put it this way -- I can cook better than them, and I have only one eye. It is a rehab center for short term and long term rehabilitation. In my case, it is short term rehabilitation. "

"We are going to keep my friend in the rehab to get her stronger. She is at Mountain View Health Care Center. I love the caring people who work there. However, I wish that the building was in better condition. My friend is with two other women in the room, and I would want her to have a little bit more privacy. They have a common area and people can go there to eat their meals. They don't have to be restricted to having them in their rooms, so that's a very good thing. The cleanliness is good, but the actual facility is quite old."

"My husband is in VA Nursing Home (Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home). This is a nursing home for veterans, and most of the people there are not eligible for assisted living because they cannot help themselves. It is fine. He has only been there for a month, but so far so good. The food is fine. He doesn't always have exactly what he wants to eat, but it is good food. They have double rooms -- which is 2 people in a room -- and it is not really spacious, but it is enough. They do have activities. I know they have bingo, music, birthday parties for the residents, and Church services. "

"My mother has moved into Piedmont Post Acute. The main reason we chose it was because she had been there once before. It was under a different name, but it's the same staff and everything, and it's close to her family. She really likes it there. Right now, she's there for rehabilitation to help her walk again after the break of her leg. The staff has been very helpful and very attentive to her. She likes the staff, especially the therapeutic staff that are working with her. She has commented on how good the food is. She was surprised. She does memory testing and things like that. What they're doing with her right now is therapy to help her walk again. They have a salon and a courtyard and a formal dining area, and if her family wanted to come in and fix a meal and have a meal with her, they can. They have quite a few amenities that would be admirable for most places. Right now, her fees are being taken care of by Medicaid and her insurance."

"We really researched facilities in our area. This was hands down the best! They have the best staffing ratios, rehab services, and offer alot of activities. It's a clean facility with lots of windows. No pee smell when you walk in! "
